"If" we were to trade Hamilton for the 3rd overall pick I think it is pretty safe to say that we are JUMPING, with both feet, into full rebuild mode.

At which point, keeping any of the other debated players through the full year would be absolutely stupid.

Hanifin is a local kid and I would love to have him, but how long will it take for him to be a top pairing D-man............? Two years the soonest........more likely three or four......

And with the money it would save Sweeney would resign Mquaid OR a similar player for around $3 mil AND possibly trade for a Bieska or Edler OR sign Sekera or Franson..........of which NONE are even as good a Dougie is now......
