I would be saying the same thing as Pens fan, but does Rutherfod feel the same way?? - EnzoD
Rutherford is an idiot if he thinks differently than us. It's a bad business decision to take Sharp, give up the assets needed, pay him 5.9 million per year when we have a two year older version of Sharp for 2.05 million less. It's not rocket science here champ.
There is zero benefit to acquiring Patrick Sharp for Pittsburgh. It makes things worse. |

Hold up... I think you are REALLY stretching it taking Neal over Sharp - Guile
Two years ago would you have traded Neal for Sharp straight up? |

Hahaha and Sharp deserved it over those guys too? I'd take Neal, Hall, and Seguin over both in a heart beat without thinking about it. Come on man. Neither Sharp nor Kunitz deserved it. They only got in because of their chemistry with their centers and only contributed one goal each. Both were predictably underwhelming. - Victoro311
I wouldnt have picked Sharp over them in any other season, BUT, Sharp had 78 points in 2013/14 with most of those coming before the Olympics. He was having a career year. And again, my point was only that they are totally different players with different styles. Heck, Sharp-Crosby-Kunitz would be an amazing top line with Sharp's 2-way play, Crosby is Crosby, and Kunitz as the power forward with physicality and net front presence. |

The matter of fact is that there is no certainty that we would be able to trade Kunitz to anyone for a decent return (like the Hawks seems to be targeting for Sharp). In that sense, it doesn't seem likely that we would pay to acquire a similar player (production wise) at a higher cap hit. Also, in Kunitz we have a player that we knows has played and meshed very well with either of our big guys (Sid and Geno). With Sharp, we get an unknown piece. Nothing says that it will work out with either Sid or Geno. It likely would, but we will never know until we try. I would rather roll the dice with the known guy rather than the more expensive, unknown guy that we have to spend assets on. |

I would have no problem with multi-year deals with two of the guys you mentioned (Soderberg and Fehr). The others, I would.
We have no idea what next year's class will look like. If I had my guess, it will be a lot like this year's class, which isn't great at all. Pittsburgh's best option to get better as an organization is to stop moving draft picks and prospects for rentals; scour the college ranks and the KHL/Sweden for free agents or underrated free agents and trades, not free agency. - Oneonta Penguin

Let me think on that... I only liked Neal for his goals. Every game I was against him for his horrid skating ability and penalties.
Sharp did put up over 30 goals in the 13-14 season (assuming you mean 2 seasons ago, if not, no trade since Sharp was hurt for the bulk of the year prior).
Yeah, I'd have done it. |

That line would be pretty underwhelming this coming season. Both Sharp and Kunitz are losing their scoring touch which is what we've been telling you. No need to give up assets to squire an aging player who's losing his touch when we already have a sizable contract given to an aging player who's losing his touch, especially when the player we have is 2 mil cheaper.
Also, stop callin Kunitz a power forward. Just because he's a net front player doesn't make him a power forward. |

You just don't understand that the pens have no need for him and his cap hit. Stop forcing sharp to the pens. It's a terrible idea for the Pens. |

Chicago is desperate. Sharp will get a 2nd rounder and a B/A- prospect. All GMs know Chi NEEDS to dump Sharp. The Pens would be dumb to get Sharp or Kessel because of cap issues. It is as simple as that. |
