Saw on Spector hockey this rumor going around
Sutter to Calgary for Hudler and a 2nd??
If i'm GMJR, i jump on that in a second - cap1681
Some of these writers are willing to make crazy deals for Sutter. (This was Mark Spector, I believe, not an actual rumor. Hopefully a GM does! I do feel someone will overvalue Sutter. |

Another consideration is MIN. They want a 2C and need to move Spurgeon because they also have too many RH top 4 dmen. |

By some miracle this trade happens, do you use both 2nd round picks to try and move up to the 1st round? |

So the NYPost is linking the Pens to St.Louis. saying there is mutual interest on a one year deal. I thought he looked out of it by the playoffs though. Still, hard to pass up a one year deal with him for around 2 mill. He's a useful player. Just a really random linking. |

I don't really want MSL, but if it prevents the Pens from doing anything stupid like a Sharp trade, I'm fine with it. |

Why are the Pens linked to all those old vets on the decline? Didn't our GM come out and said we had to look towards youth? This scares me. |

Habs' GM mentioned he would do such a trade. The Habs have the 26th pick. Would you do it? |

I like the idea of a 1 year only deal for cheap.
If you consider what the Rags did this season, they were flying for the larger part. Nash on fire & MSL played ? Games (thinking most games so little rest??) & their on the gas attitude to show all how good they were, it would have been a hard year. If we could manipulate his TOI as MJ did with Sid & Geno, he could be a very good pick up. It will need a deeper team than we had last year to be able to do that though which is starting to get together if these F rumoured are going to sign. He is a legit top 6 F also unless his age automatically changes that?? |

That's what I'm thinking. Maybe GMJR has a decent trade in place and wants to bring in a vet like MSL just to bridge the gap until Kap is ready next year, depth is depth. |

I think I would do it too, might wait until it's the Habs time to select to see who's on the board. On the other side, having a chance to draft 2 prospects in this draft 2nd round kinda helps the Pens rebuild their stock of young prospects faster... 2 > 1. But that 1 has the potential to be very good. Tough call. |

I would be ok with MSL for 1 yr/$2 mil: low risk/high reward signing |

Take this one million times over trading futures for someone not named T.J. Oshie. Create a stop gap between now and when Kapanen is ready without mortgaging the future. Between St. Louis, Plotnikov, Dupuis, maybe Tikhonov, and Bennett we should be able to put together a second line that works. It's a very good option for the Penguins at this juncture. |

Some pieces will need moved first. At this point he is 40 and a tweener 2-3 liner. Unless the plan is using a young 4th line Spaling-Sundqvist-Bennett I'm not sure St.Louis fits our current team. But a Dupuis Soderberg MSL third line is enticing |

wow, Ottawa got good value on signing two of their young forwards. Mark Stone at 3.5M is a steal, considering he put up 60+ points and 25+goals last year. |

I agree. MSL still had 21g and 52 pts last year. Sign him for the year and hope he has 1 more year in him.

Yes agree. But would he sign for that?
As I said above the signing/s of the Russian/s may bring players here for less than they would off if we were actually relying on our WBS guys or trading away our young D. |

Bartley, who currently stalking this board, just yelled out in pain and fired a buck shot at the portrait of Brandon Sutter he keeps in his basement. |

Pens might have to do a bunch of 1 year deals again which is okay . How would yinz feel about Bergenheim and/or Fleisschman to 1 year contracts? |

If it is a UFA, I'm fine with almost any of them on a 1 year deal. Buyout Scuderi, trade Spaling, Sutter, and Kunitz and the team has a decent amount of money available. |

I love the 1 year deal. I don't know how far those two have fallen. I used to love Bergenheim's game. |
