Ryan Wilson- Your charts are pretty and paint the picture you want, but to compare Kunitz and Sharp as "the same player" or of equal skill/value to a team, ludicrous. SHARP WAS ON TEAM CANADA one year ago...Kunitz hasnt been on a Canadian tournament team since he was in junior hockey. Sharp still has wheels, a great shot and plays solid 2-way hockey. Kunitz could never skate well and is now SLOWWWW.
Kunitz is a totally different player than Sharp, regardless of ability. Sharp is a 2-way sniper while Kunitz is a power forward that padded his stat line on Crosby's wing. Am I saying I think Rutherford should trade for Sharp? IDK, if the price was right. He would be a lot better than David Perron, Beau Bennett, or Kunitz as a top 6 wing next to Crosby or Malkin.

Perron Sid Horny
Plotnikov Geno Hudler
Kunitz Tikhonov Dupuis
Winnik/Comeau Spaling Bennett
That's about a 6-7 mill added. So you are left with 4.5-5.5 mill for the back end before a Scuderi buyout
Hopefully a Sutter for Hudler deal is more than just talk, doubt it is and Tikhonov really does want to play here. |

ROR is worth it. He will only be 25 when he becomes an fa and will only get better. Dude is a warrior. He can play center & wing, pk and pp....well worth the price. I rather have ROR at that cost than the one dimensional, head case Kessel. - joescullz
I was always a huge ROR fan. Plays every position and situation. Only problem is the pens couldn't afford another 7 mil+ player. |

True, but only bc Cindy lobbied for it. I like Kunitz as a player. Really gritty guy with a good shot. But they are totally different players was my point. |

Soderberg is going to get a heck of a lot more than 4. If he is worth 4 boston would have signed him by now. He and Balesky are the marquee fa's in this class...that should tell you something. - joescullz
No he isn't. If he was looking for less term maybe, but no team's gonna give a 30 year old 3C with only two year's sample size a long term contract at too much over 4 mil per. And even that is too big of a contract for Boston to handle especially when they have Spooner on an ELC ready to take over 3C. I think you're underestimating the ring of cap hell Boston is in. |

So... you're a stupid fan, biased and ignorant of any facts. Kunitz apparently wasn't on the Olympics, and Sharp's stats didn't get padded by player with Towes.
So... please get out, you're embarrassing yourself. |

Considering you didn't know Kunitz was on team Canada and didn't know the pens don't have a 2015 1st rd pick, it's safe to say you don't know ANYTHING about Kunitz or the Penguins. Please go back to the Hawks board

We'll help you out even more, Scuderi for Sharp and Bickell and CHI's 2nd rounder. Now you'll be able to sign Saad when someone sends a $7m/yr offer sheet for him. |

You don't know any more than us why Kunitz was in the lineup. Maybe Toews lobbied for Sharp to be included?
They both ended up with the basically the same stats, further proving they are similar players. Both performed as well in the same tournament with the same quality of players.

Don't forget suggesting a trade for the exact picks the Pens don't have. |

So by your logic... ignore the charts and graphs and look at points, goals, assists?
If that's your logic they're the same exact player. Nice try. GTFO |

Funny Ryan says to roll the dice and hope that Kunitz regains his form, yet all season he claimed he was fine and was playing well.
Which is it? |

but, but, but, Kunitz played on a line with Cindy, and Sharp went out there and did everything on his own. He wasn't playing with an all world center.... |

Now before our naive blackhawk bandwagon fan gets more butthurt... I think we all do agree that Sharp is better than Kunitz.
But for the price to acquire him, its beyond laughable they think we should even be interested. They would do far better shopping him to a fringe playoff team. |
