kane - Eichel - Ennis
Moulson - Reinhart - Girgensons
Foligno - Larsson - Gionta
Deslauriers - McM - Hodge/Kaleta

Nope... Hodge isn't in the top 6 if we don't make any moves.

- JVince11

I think those will be more or less the lines midway through the season but I think to start Bylsma is going to shield both Eichel and Reinhart a bit so if one of them drops a line it could happen. Not saying it should, just throwing it out there. If we want his trade value up we'd try to put him in the best situation possible

You may as well pencil Girgensons in as the 1C to start the year. Bylsma already said that's where he'll be to give the kids some time to acclimate.

Exactly right. I would like to see hodgson or grigs on the second line right wing to start the year if they are here.....

Good point. So start of the year you might have something looking like

Kane-Girgensons-Ennis
Moulson-Eichel-Hodgson
Larrson-Reinhart-Gionta
Foligno-McCormick-Des

But hopefully by the end of the year Reinhart and Eichel improve enough to the point that they can be 1c-2c and either slide Girgensons over or have hi center the 3rd line.

Not a insider but I'm hundred percent sure both of those players will not be here

That's very possible, but the opposite is possible as well. Honestly until Hodgson gets bought out he's a possibility. I'm on the side that says why buy him out now when there's a slim chance he can become serviceable enough to trade. If he doesn't you buy him out next season for a marginal increase in cap hit

I was listening to WGR S & the Bulldog few weeks back and I forget who they had on, someone in the sabres administration and they said that when Time Murray came into Buffalo he had a list of players that he wanted to make up his team. He had his team mapped out just needed to get all the players that he wanted. He succeeded with Kane but I'm wondering just how much he wants the players on that list, because that is what might kill us in a ROR trade. He might just go overboard because of his desire to have him on the team. What he might consider his perfect team. I'm not saying it is true just remembered that and I thought I would bring it up. Plus its a pretty safe bet that ROR is one of the players that he wants/has on his list.

At some points, yes. But I don't think it's crazy to say that he might not play with him 100% of the time and might not start with him. He's a generational talent but he's still a kid and if Bylsma wants him to earn his way then maybe he doesn't get to start with Kane.

He's not worth the price to get or the price to keep. Money best spent elsewhere

If I was tim murray, I would be calling minny about taking Backstrom from them if they included their 3rd round pick this year. Then move pick 51 for Lehner or lack.

Get your starter, a vet back up, and it only cost moving from the 2nd to the 3rd.

Why I can't wait for the season to start:
So I can stop hearing ROR
So we can stop using "generational talent"

Also - Question: Why do sports commentators and people talking about sports arbitrarily choose to use just some guys' last name and then some guys entire names? Rob Ray sounded like he had a mouth full of food every time he'd say "Tire Mires".

No.
Backstrom is bad. Often injured. Old and expensive. We have a goaltender on our roster, getting paid. Make one move, get the guy you want. 30ish guys are UFAs and will work for cheap and are less old and broken if that's what you need.

A 7th, they need to clear space, and that gives them an extra 3 million plus to resign dubynk.

Backstrom would be the back up. And he makes less than 4 million, and I believe he only has 1 year, possibly two years left on his contract.
