Two part question.
First part....would you say Evander Kane is equal or close to equal to ROR as a player. Its an ROR for Kane trade idea, just would you consider them about even in terms of value as a player? Yes or no? - Homer
IMO, Kane brings more but that's just me. |

This has nothing to do with you liking him or not, the Sabres can care less if you do. Murray likes him and thinks he will fit right into what they are trying to do. I agree, he's not going to get you 35 goals but the sad part is, his age and he has skill and that will get him 7 mill in this NHL. - SABRES 89
You missed the point of my post. You said "everyone wants a trade but no one wants to give anything up"
I respond with, yes, I want a trade. No I don't want to give up anything for ROR because I don't want ROR. |

As players yes I would say so.
Big difference is that lack of contract. That's my sticking point.
So right now would I do Kane for an unsigned ROR no. |

That's your opinion
I would rather add an almost ppg player over the last 4 seasons at $8 million than ROR for who in gods green earth knows how much he is going to want. - Stripes77
Kessel is cancer (no pun) in the room and is, well, fat. Shows me he doesnt work hard. With all the young guys thats a horrible example. Toronto wouldnt want anything near that much, they are trying to get rid of his contract. 8 mill a year for him for what is it,6 ore years. OMG thats a HORRIBLE idea. So no It's not really my opinion seeing as TO wants him gone for even a decent return. |
|
|
|
I'm saying having Girgensons is like having ROR just more physical.
Btw Ennis is very good in the corners and he has something the Sabres don't have enough of and that's speed down the wings. - Stripes77
I think you are getting that speed and work in the corners with Kane, speed with Eichel, I think people are selling O'Reilly a bit short here.
If there is a way to get O'Reilly without giving up Ennis great, but if it's going to cost Zads then don't do it. Then they are short on D. |

Ok, so they are close, right? Then here is my question.
Lets say Myers for BOGO was a wash (some like myers more, some BOGO but its close) so basically we got Kane for 1st rounder, Lemieux and Armia.
Why wouldnt it be a fair offer to give them 21 plus their choice of any TWO of the following five.....Baptiste, Bailey, Compher, Fashing, McCabe......I'd do that in heartbeat over moving what people are mentioning, IE Sam, Zadorov, Bogo, ect. ??

I'm wondering if we could off load CoHo to the Avs.... - Beezer33
Beezer - I don't know where you're getting your info from but you have to do a better job of making it believable:
No way COL trades him for 31 and McCabe, or I'd be all over that
Gmtm wants to keep 51 to move up from 21 does he? Know how many spots 51 would move you up from 21
? 1 maybe 2
Dump coho on COL? Really? The last thing they need is another C and they don't like paying $ or they'd pay ROR

If Toronto already wanted him gone he would be gone.
Enough with your I know more than you cause I know people crap. You're not the only one that knows people in the show.
Kessel might be fat but that fat is one of the fastest in the league.
Id love to see a deal that good if all I'm giving up a 21st pick a 51st and 2 B range prospects for a ppg player.
Kessel needs a coach that let's him free a bit and puts him on a line with 2 defensive responsible players. Kind of like what was done when Mogilny was a Sabre. That is right from the mouth of a nhl assistant coach. |

I want nothing to do with Kessel, especially with what it will cost to get him. |

If he was signed I would be all for it, but he's not. It all comes down to that contract. Which btw if Colorado thought he was that important to them wouldn't they just sign him? |

It should be an exciting day tomorrow and I'll be stuck in a conference all day my job puts on but I'll have a computer in front of me all day so I will be on this site pretending I'm taking notes, interested in the speeches while checking out the rumors/deals. |

And what with all the Saturday 1PM games at home?? That SUCKS!! Saturday night is a night to go out, have dinner and some drinks then go to or just watch the Sabres game. Not 1 in the afternoon. Wow, I hate it. |

This will be his second trade in less than what 6 years? He turned it off last year, coaches said he doesn't like being coached, doesn't like coaches, doesn't work out, they question how long that will keep him in shape and viable in the the league, he has a huge and long contract. Just too many reasons to sell out for some goals he scores when he feels like it. Pass. |

Allocation of assets would be my guess. They have some big salaries up front especially with MacKinnon an RFA next year and they're brutal on D. Yesterday Colorado was trying to get him signed supposedly.

To elaborate: #Avs desire 1st-round pick, current player/prospect(s) for O'Reilly. Few teams willing to give up a 1st, unless they have many
Maybe we won't have to give too much? |

31 and Ennis for ROR. ROR replaces Ennis' points and the Sabres get bigger, Avs can draft a D at 31. - GilPerreault11
You want to give up ennis and 31 for a pending ufa, but some think it's crazy to give up ennis and picks for kessel or nash? |

I wouldn't worry about this, if Murray gets him he'll get signed, even if nobody loves the $/ term |

I have no worries about them signing him, none. 6 years 40 Mill seems very fair.
If what Chambers says is true, then 21 plus a prospect, take any one you want but Sam and sign me up.

UGH, we will sign him, easily.
Yes, it is crazy. Kessel cant be given away and Nash is 7 years older that ROR. |
