Any word on who we may be talking to in terms of UFA's. Wasn't today the beginning of that period?

I got to about the 7th episode. It got good then just kind of lost it but the Wachowskis didn't direct a few of the episodes toward the end.

It's like watching the episodes of Twin Peaks that David Lynch didn't direct.

Hmm.. well, I'm into it now, gonna keep on trucking and judge at the finale to see if I wanna endure the next season.

Yea how many goals do each score?

Kessel .37 GPG, .78 PPG career average. ROR .21 GPG, .57 PPG career average. Those are the facts. Make your own opinions from there.
I would still take ROR before Kessel. I feel he has more value being a younger 2-way centre and I don't think he would cost even 7mil to lock up long-term ( I could be wrong, wouldn't be a first).
All that being said I just want the Sabres to acquire talent and would probably be excited about either player coming here.
I think TM can worry about any cap ramifications when it becomes a problem, the Black Hawks manage to do it every year or so.

I thought the same thing. First episode didn't really grab me, but I gave it a chance. By episode 3 I thought I was hooked. I got into it and expected to finish it but it just kind of fell flat at some point for me. I'll try to finish it at some point, only a few episodes left.

I'm waiting for Rick and Morty second season in July B)

The Hawks don't pay theIR 3rd line center 7.5 million, and the sabres are hoping eichel and reinhart pan out, so that's what we would be doing.

I know that's the signing day, but isn't there a period now where GM's can talk to UFA's without signing them?

Might be in the minority but honestly unless Murry can land Gibson or Markstrom (ya ikn...i just have a hunch)....I'll take goalie by committee until we can find a solid #1 either through the draft or one emerges via future trade/free agency

It was reported he'd waive if the right trade comes, I'm thinking he's just ready to move on. And being so close to UFA I doubt he'd be too picky

ROR would be playing top 6, playing wing most likely, a little center, a lot of penalty kill and more powerplay than he saw in Colorado, which would likely see his points increase considering his shooting % is almost identical to Kessel's

I'm with you on this. I think we should have just kept Lindback. I don't want to give up anything for a goalie, really.

He would play left, we don't need lw. And no, because a key stat in shooting percentage is shots, O'Reilly doesn't take nearly as much. Kessel is a shooting leader each year.

31+, not sure what the plus would be. Not sure what Bieksa is worth around the NHL to be honest. I'm taking shots in the dark here, it just seems to me, and maybe only me, like something that could happen with Murray already talking to Van, trades have a funny way of evolving.

O'Reilly has played mostly RW when not at center. Its OK to want Kessel more, its OK to not want O'Reilly at all. I'd rather have ROR and I think he would get more shots getting more powerplay time and more minutes in general. That's just my opinion.

I really haven't heard a single argument as to why ROR wouldn't be good for the Sabres except the salary. I'm willing to let the people who sign the paychecks make that call. If they think it's too much they won't get him.

Thank you. That's all I've been trying to say. It's been a Kessel or O'Reilly argument on here when it should simply be excitement over the possibility that we acquire some top line talent. I trust Murray, unlike Darcy, to make the right call.

The only thing I have against ROR is the pricetag to get him....hell i'd love to put Ovi on this team....but ur cutting off the nose to spite the face

Anyone watch that Sense8 on netflix?

They lost me at the orgy. Kinky show but not enough actually going on. Lost interest and doubt I'll go back.

I binged it not too long ago... I feel the same about not much going on, but there is still some worthwhile moments and it holds some potential for the future

I've seen a couple of arguments against it.

- We already have a similar player in Girgensons
- He's an bumhole to deal with contract wise (which will be a pain in the future)
- The possibility that he doesn't resign here and hits FA after one season
- Some other stuff...
- He has pretty much plateaued points wise
-Some more stuff
