I wonder if we get ROR it might be a little easier to attract UFA's to consider Buffalo. Having a roster of Kane, Eichel, ROR couldn't hurt and with lots of cap space, maybe it'll entice some free agents. Just spitballing a bit. |

Me and a few others (MHP) have been preaching 31 for Lack would be a good deal. Got pooped on by a few. I definitely don't want to get in a bidding war for Talbot. Much rather do nothing and sign one of the half decent FA's on July 1. - SabreWest
I have to think that Talbot will cost and Lack might not as much. |

I really haven't heard a single argument as to why ROR wouldn't be good for the Sabres except the salary. I'm willing to let the people who sign the paychecks make that call. If they think it's too much they won't get him. - Pierceme69
1. Salary
2. Pending UFA
3. Incredibly costly to acquire
4. Not a goal scorer
5. His natural position is not a position of need |

I really don't think either of those guys are the long term answer... Therefore I'd rather try and bring in Niemi (helps towards the cap), Neuvrith/Enroth (familiarity), without giving up any assets. Maybe I just don't understand the world though. If I'm giving up any assets I'm giving them up for a younger guy that can be groomed for the position |

"I don't think of myself as the next, as you guys call it, generational player," Eichel said. "I don't look at that at all. I want to work hard and try to make the NHL next year and try to be an impact player."
Welp. That's that. Problem solved. |

I'm with you on this. I think we should have just kept Lindback. I don't want to give up anything for a goalie, really. - DynamicThreads
I don't know about you but I refuse to sit to through the bleep I sat through the last two seasons. If you wanted to do goalie by committee at least bring in a capable guy who could do that like Enroth. That being said I want us to trade for someone and I'd put it at 99.999999% we do.
With the info out tonight I'd put it at 70 75% it's Talbot |

Nope not valid reasons...
4 and 5 are just as important as number 1 and 2 IMO. |

Bringing back Enroth is perfectly fine with me....overpaying for Talbot or Lack is not.. |

I'll be just as pissed as you if we give up 21st or both 2nd's for either guy. Hopefully Murray is smarter than that. |

As its been said many times, you don't build around wingers.
I don't want to make 2 blockbuster deals for 2 wingers.
I'd rather them try and get a defensemen |

Not a huge fan of Talbot but won't be upset if we get him, as long as it's not Lehner |

Yes. If anyone watched the playoffs, nearly every game is a defensive battle. This is how the NHL is now. Time to load up on D men... and two-way forwards... |

A top pairing LHD is a need.
I'd trade 21, 51 and another piece to get one |

I don't know if Odyua is a LHD but if he is or not we should throw some good money at him. He'd be a great gritty defensively sound defenseman |

Would you send another d-man back in that package? Zadorov or Pysyk? Top pairing guys are usually on the trade block |
