I just talked to him about it and he said by light he means they haven't even gotten an offer for a pick in the first two rounds. 3rd round draft pick... thats bad. - usethe1-2-2
I thought maybe he could land a 2nd round pick. Maybe add a 2016 3rd rounder to make him a little more appealing |

I mentioned him over here because I think he'd be perfect on the Pens. Seems to be exactly what you guys need a little more of. - Cptmjl
Agreed. He should also come in at around the same price as Sutter. So it's like we upgrade 3c for free, cap hit wise, and gain whatever we get for Sutter. Win-win. |

Key word is WEAK. - madmike71
Weak based on what? Sutter's perceived value, real value, the average trade value made regarding the Penguins?
The first and third option as a basis would make those offers sound a tad fair >_> |

It hasn't in my mind, and shouldnt in Pens' fans minds... but, I am thinking of it in other GM's views...
Maatta and Pouliot both seem to be the real deal, one has had two big injuries... Would you trade Kessel on a possible big risk? Maatta's value is and should be high, but at least for this next year, he is a risk. - Guile
Did anyone ever say what the injury to Pouliott was at the end of the season? All I remember was upper body and have not heard anything else. |

Last update I can find is this...
Derrick Pouliot said he will go back to the minors now that the Penguins have been eliminated.
Pouliot didn't suit up in the playoffs because he was dealing with an upper body injury. When he's ready to return to action, he will help Wilkes Barre Scranton Penguins in their AHL playoff run.

So, seems like it wasn't a severe one if he planned on going to the AHL playoffs. |

He's not strong. He get's pushed of the puck easier than Brittle Beau. Absolutely never wins a battle......basically the anti-Staal. |

Well don't get me wrong Kessel is a good player but between his contract/cap hit he becomes difficult to absorb. You're hurting your depth or I should say potential depth by having that salary. You only have so much left to shore up the rest of the team. We all know how awesome it'd be to see Kessel on a line with Crosby but the overall effect on the team might not be so great. As far as Maatta goes there's no way I'd want him traded if I were a Pens fan. Kid has a ton of potential. - Cptmjl
I'm with you 100%. it doesn't make sense anyway you slice it. |

Mike said that was the offers they recieved so far. Things could heat up. Dreger talking now like St.Louis wants Sutter for Oshie... Not sure what that would accomplish. |

I believe that would give many of us full on internet orgasms if that trade occured. |

Thanks, I looked at the WBS page and he played in six games, so one would assume he was 100% risk free as I doubt the organization would risk him furthering his injury. |

Sutter for oshie? If sutter was the centerpiece in an Oshie deal, JR better not (frank) that up |

No to Oshie. He's more of a playmaker than scorer. |

While true, moving Sutter is needed. Even if Oshie plays third line you get rid of Sutter for a trade piece later. |

Interesting set of tweets from @JB_Hockeytalk
Maybe we see Oshie to PIT with a young prospect like Rattie and Brandon Sutter going the other way. (Via @DarrenDreger)
But I keep hearing, if all fails, Pittsburgh and St. Louis might do something' to shake things up for both clubs. (Via @DarrenDreger)
I think there's a strong appetite to change things up a little bit. It could be a pretty significant trade. @DarrenDreger on #Pens |
