If those picks pan out, sure. We already know Hamilton is capable of 40+ points as an NHL defenseman. The prospect they picked up is nice, but there is a whole lot more uncertainty there for Boston

Heading into the draft, my mindset is this. Stalk piling defenseman is great! We need a number one defense. No scratch that, we need a Norris contender. At the same time, I think we need a player who can play behind Giroux at the second center spot and possibly take over for Giroux one day. You could argue Briere had a lot to do with Giroux's development. I'm not saying Giroux is old and we need to find a replacement. I just think we need another star in the making at center.
