Didn't Eric Chouinard eventually become Flyers property at one point? He never amounted to much. - MJL
Yes, actually had two brief stints in the Flyers organization. |

Yup. Maybe they thought reuniting him with Gagne would help? It clearly did not. |

Perhaps with the exception of Carolina the Flyers at 7 probably are offering the highest pick. From the rumored CBJ offer the Schenn are pretty good trade chips. I wouldn't go any higher than BSchenn and if they want Hagg over Luke so be it. I think that is a solid offer for the pick.
Carolina can't offer much more than 5 and Skinner. - hereticpride
You are 2crazy, 4real.
Stay at 7 and maybe get those same guys or great offensive prospects which would be great too. Don't believe the hype. It's not an exact science. Way too much for Provolov, and that's the player I hope they get. |

If they get to 3 I don't think it's for prov or hanifin they could have 1 or the other at 5. It's got to be strome |

I hope they stick at 7. I feel like moving up for a chance at whomever they're coveting in the 3-4 range will cost way too much. |

Thanks Bill. Do you think that MDZ is not happy with the Flyers since Ek is saying that they might be headed towards arbitration? I am thinking that he might be harboring some ill feelings towards the way that he was benched earlier on last season. I am hoping that Hexy can dump some salary, and players in order to resign MDZ, but we might end up having to trade his rights. He finished strong last season, so I would hate to see him go, but this is a business after all.

Bill - this is why your are the best at what you do. Great little nugget about Gagne. You are simply the man! Thanks for all the work you do, in-season and offseason. |

Why would he be mad at Flyers management about getting benched by the coach Hextall fired? He just wants more money and term than Hextall is comfortable with. |

A bit off topic, I watched a little of the NBA draft last night. I guess after being inundated with all the sports talk information about it I was curious to see who the Sixers would get.
I'll say this, I don't like how its the commissioner as the one who makes the announcements. I prefer the GM. I also find it strange that after the kid has been drafted, the only one up there is the commissioner and no one else.
To me hockey is such a team sport. From the Stanley Cup ceremony right on down to the draft when you have the commissioner, GM and other members of the organization and the player.
Just my random thoughts..... |

I'm thinking it has zero to do with that, and everything to do with what it always comes down to, money. This is a typical RFA negotiation with a veteran player.

Right about what he's worth money wise, but it's the term that's killer. 5 years is lengthy. |

Obviously they are gambling that he develops his game further and it is a stell. Just shocked me a bit on combination of length and money. Wonder if ROR is now 100% gone. |

I agree. I'm pretty confident the Flyers draft board has certain prospects who are clearly rated above the rest of the pack. If Hexy has a shot at one of those prospects and has to give up a roster player, a prospect and #7 so be it. If the prospects after McDavid and Eichel, there isn't a clear difference, then he'll stay at 7.
I expect a dman to be drafted by Hexy within his first three picks.

I like my newborn for 2032. He has big hands and feet, could be a monster and the way he breastfeeds is aggressive and intimidates the opposition. |

But how does he act away from breastfeeding. Attitude off breastfeeding is just as important as on. |

My 4 month old son has big feet, and a giant, big toe. All his other toes are quite small... and his hands are pretty small too. But he's got a giant head(which WILL directly translate to hockey knowledge)

For those wondering who was taken with all those picks Bill mentioned:
16th-overall (MTL) Eric Chouinard
17th-overall (QUE/COL) Martin Skoula
19th-overall (QUE/COL) Robyn Regehr
20th-overall (QUE/COL) Scott Parker (!)
22nd-overall (PHI) Simon Gagne
Yeah... there was actually two Chouinards taken in a row... OTT took Mathieu (no relation) at 15. |
