I don't know, Gostisbehere didn't look ready last year, and he missed most of the season. I think he's going to need AHL time. - MJL
Maybe but he's closer than morin IMO. He's older and has played in the a and played with the big team. |

Texted my buddy who's a massive bruins fan about Hamilton. His reply. Sorry I'm unavailable. I've just jumped off the closest bridge. - Hextall271

Don't overlook the brilliant move of extending Adam (frank)ing McQuaid for 4 more years |

What makes taking those guys bizarre is that Boston still has picks at 37, 45, and 52.
I don't get it. But, I'm not qualified to be a scout or a GM, and I'm not currently burdened by being Bruins fan. - Doc_Sarcasm
It's purely cap related in my opinion. I just think you don't trade the young guys, you trade the older guys.

But I mean if they were smart, they'd keep Dougie then once it gets closer to re-up time, trade Chara and use his freed up cap hit to use on Hamilton. Imagine the haul they could pull for Chara at a trade deadline to a contender.
Of course, maybe this was plan A and it fell through. We just don't know. |

Winnipeg gets a steal with Connor.
Boston unreal today I wonder what their fans are thinking - Just5
I'd have completely lost my poop over Hamilton for a pick in the teens
You can move anybody. Fine
But don't tell me that is the best deal you could get, when Reinhart gets two picks and Hamilton had a 40-point season
Just an awful, awful deal |

Hamilton was already an RFA with reported contract demands of 7M per year according to CSNNE. We'll see what he costs in Calgary.

If Merkley makes it to 29 and we take him I'd be thrilled. Thought he'd go no later than 17 |

Worst case scenario, IMO, would be to offer sheet him, and let someone try and grab him from you. If it was for that kind of money, the compensation is nuts. |

I get that, and I get that moving Hamilton might have been necessary. Its what they got that baffles me.
Plus, they could have had Connor, Barzal, AND in all likelihood at least one of those two guys they took way ahead of their rating. |

but that is harder then most think, look at hexy holding onto all his vet bottom six D guys right now... he'd love to trade one or two for more picks, just is tough to do |

That's one of the reasons why they dealt him, they thought they got better value than the potential OS compensation.
