I've never had doubts about how Hextall drafts, at least not in a deep draft and what he's done last year. I think the next step is UFA and trades to better the current roster. I have yet to see anything truly impressive in this area. Nick Schultz and Michael Del Zotto still do not blow me away.

The effing topped the Seguin disaster. They really did.

I don't even see how that was possible, but they did -- and I was one who understood the Seguin deal, though it hasn't worked out as they hoped

And if that kid's ask was only $5.5 million for his next deal, you (frank)ing pay it and make him the artificial cap ceiling for everybody else on the roster who isn't Bergeron or Krejci -- you could easily tell any other young player on the roster that they're not getting jack-poop above Hamilton

If he doesn't want to be there, and you decide to comply, then you trade him anywhere in the league for more than what they got

FFS, you were able to move Lucic, and you would've been able to do so to any number of places, especially if you were retaining cash

If somebody would have told me that Dougie Hamilton gets moved for a No. 15 and two second-rounders, I would've been banned, I would have mocked them so hard

I was trapped in a meeting I couldn't get out of during the draft. I'm absolutely amazed that we got Provorov. So elated.

I disagree. The return on investment on those guys was amazing. He deserves tons of credit there.

As for this draft, could not be happier. For everyone that wanted to trade a ton of assets to move up to ensure getting Provy...well suck it.

Love trading up to get someone they may have had ranked 12-15 (obviously speculation). We wanted them to swing for the fences and selecting the first overall pick in the OHL is that. We now have a great prospect pool!

And for Boston, well fine I can't stand that team anyways...crash and burn is fine with me. CGY deserves good things coming there way.
Edit: They did get a good return for Lucic IMHO though

I was waiting for a trade up from 16 on, TBQH. After Boston got done and all those guys were on the board, I was saying, c'mon, Hexy...gotta slide up here. Was hoping they'd do it for Connor, but Konecny was a cheap price.

They walked out of the first round with two guys that were widely seen as lottery picks. Hard to b upset

Hope their right on Konecny. I didn't think it was a cheap price. Value chart has the leafs winning the trade in a landslide

Yeah, it's 6:30 already.

Actually, bill is in such disbelief at the Bruins that he can't put pen to paper.
