I don't question the talent, I just don't see the need to give up the 21st in this draft to get him. We are not going to the cup next season or the one after that, Murray needs to have some patience....(cue the Axel Rose whistling)

This is a clear sign of TM falling in love with players he drafted. This is a bad, bad trade. Ottawa needed to move a goalie, everyone in the league knows that, so not only did they get a first they dumped salary in the process.

I know what you're getting at there, but was the 2010 team not competetive? Yeah we didn't make the ECF but we won the division and were a pretty good team.

Are we counting the 3-1 and 5-3 as winning seasons? I don't really consider it a "season" under 10 games. So do we really value that as a good season? Im sure we could of signed a ton of guys who are 1-0 in the NHL. The would of probably needed the 2nd overall though since they are undefeated!

I'm just hoping this doesn't inspire Ottawa to give the Rangers their 16th for Talbot.

Feel free to pile on me for having optimism, but I'm not going to cry about what happened.

Scouts feel he's good, GM's feel he's good, and that's good enough for me to have faith that they know what the (frank) they're talking about.

It's a gamble and I hope to hell it works out. Let's reconvene in a few years about this.
