He's great at the AHL level. Hasn't done anything of note at the NHL level. His 3.19 GAA and .896 sv% at the NHL level tells me all I need to know at this point.

It hasn't generally been an issue. I wasn't worried about getting one because I knew there were options available.

I've already said I don't love this trade. But I can't change it, and any player we would have drafted at 21 would be at least 3 or 4 years away.

The fact of the matter is, we needed a goalie. Murray got one. Period.

I know a lot more than you seem to think I do. I've been waiting to see Markstrom blossom into the NHLer that he was supposed to be for years now. I've paid attention to him since he was with the Amerks, but it's ok. Keep telling me what I need to do.

So the Sabres got Jack Eichel, Evander Kane, and Robin Lehner with their 3 firsts. Murray said if you told him last year that's what he'd get with those 3 picks he'd have thought you were on mushrooms.

Do you? Legwand might end up there by mid season but I don't see Legwand touching the 4th line. My concern is that we don't need anymore centers we have enough as it is and wasting valuable learning ice time with good line mates on a 35 year old rental is not a smart move for the long term development of your future star players. It would be repeating the past. Hopefully Bylsma is smarter than that but I have my doubts.

I'd think he'd have a hell'uva lot more options with the 21st then the 31st.

43 year old, lifelong fan here, as well.

But to say Lehner is nothing isn't giving the kid a fair shake.

He was phenomenal his rookie year, slipped his 2nd year and got hurt last year. These types of trades are why the GM and his pro scouts get paid the big bucks.

I'm confident that if Murray didn't see something in him that he wouldn't have done this.
