I'm having a hard time understanding why TM just helped a division rival? Honestly I'm not saying this to bust balls I can't wrap my head around it. Makes no sense. I could understand if it was for some awesome player than you just suck it up but this doesn't make sense. - Cptmjl
What part don't you get? They took back Legwand so they wouldn't have to give up another asset for Lehner. |

If what the Sabres do would ever make you even consider that, then you really need to re-evaluate your life. |

Why the hell would you have to give up more than the 21st pick in a deep draft for Lehner? Why would you even have to give up a first round pick for Lehner to begin with? |

I am now listening to hockey hotline, what bad radio this show is - homiedclown
Every show I've listened to in Buffalo has been awful so far... TBF, I think all sports shows have become "unlistenable" over the last 6 or 7 years though. |

Because some think we are getting some stud player with that pick..... Or combining that pick with some of our crap players to get a stud player... - jochfr
So youre saying 21, Girgorenko and Weber wasnt going to be enough for O'Reilly? I am shocked |

Its not apples and oranges, someone said Legwand hasn't put up 40 points in a couple of seasons, his stats say otherwise.
And why people care about Legwand is beyond me, he has one year left on his contract and will be moved out at the deadline or let go next July.
I dont like the trade, but why people are butthurt about Legwand is beyond me. The trade was 21 for Lehner. - Mentalorgasm5
Ah, I see. I thought you were saying why is 40 from Legwand bad but 40 from O'Reilly good.
For me, the whole Legwand thing is just weird because we helped them out and still had to overpay in my eyes. Taking on the bad contract is supposed to lower the price but to me it didn't seem like it did. |

Would you have rather he had made a play for Talbot? Better yet would you have traded the 21st for Talbot? - Cptmjl
I was in the "(frank) this let's just take a chance in FA" group.
I wouldn't have done 21 for talbot either, i just think these days the team makes the goalie rather than vice versa like in the old nhl.
I think the only reason he gave up 21 is because it's his guy |

The part where Lehner isn't worth 21 straight up and we had to take on a contract to help them as well. That part. |

I think I would have been fine with 31 for Lehner (he was my 2nd choice to bring in here) 21 hurts a little. |
