Moulson is garbage. Unless you have a superstar feeding him empty nets left and right he is a 12-15 goals a year bottom 6 winger at best and he is making what? 5 million a year???

He can throw out all the terms he wants. Tim Murray has already shown that when a guy he wants is available, he's willing to pay, and even overpay, for him. This is just the latest example of that, nothing more.

Now knowing that one would probably slip to him at 21 is quite possible.

He got 2 NHL players for a ???? that is 2-5 years from playing here.

Last time Legwand was moved at the deadline he got 3 players/pick in return. Not saying they'll get a 1st back but he is one season off a 50 point season.

I'm not excited about the deal but I like Lehner over Lack and Talbot by a mile. He still has 31 and 51 to move up if he chooses to.

I get it. But at the same time, you have to give to get and we have enough currently that we can afford to do that.

With the quantity of picks they've acquired over the last few years, there's no realistic way they could have kept all of them. Only allowed 50 pro contracts.

Wrong everybody knew he made his living off JT just like everybody knew he would shat the bed as soon as he was traded and exposed. They were close but that didn't change the facts of his ability. I'd say about 15% of the Islander posters on this site were sad to see him go. The rest were well aware of his many many short comings. Why do you think he went back to you guys? The Lehner deal is small potatoes in the larger picture, but management groups around the league still fail to understand how easy it is to acquire average to above average goaltending.

Matty Mo got them 2 other 2nds and then signed him back.

Matty Mo isn't great but when put with quality players is a 20-30 goal scorer.
