I don't see them as all that similar, but even if you do, Murray wants a whole team of Girgensons type players. Everyone thinks if you don't score 80 points a season you're not worth a big contract. There's way more than scoring that goes into making a hockey player worth it.

I agree with this. Both of them play a very sound defensive game, neither is going to tear it up offensively but have plenty of talent to really be contributors at both ends of the ice. Neither takes a lot of penalties. Where the differences come in is that Girgensons is a bit more physical than O'Reilly and O'Reilly is better at face offs.

I was just thinking the exact same thing. Hamilton made a great point about TM this morning. While TM is burning to make trades he won't make a trade just to make one. I trust he won't make a giant mistake tonight.

ROR has put up over 50 points a couple times. I think if he got some PP time he could top out at 70 a season. Add in that he probably prevents 15-20 goals a season with his defensive play and you have a guy that is really worth the big contract. People will love this guy if we get him. As long as they are willing to look past who we give up. I hope we keep Ennis.
