I'd prefer not to loose Larssons. I can definitely see hodgson getting bought out now. I think he could bounce back, but if theres no room, why take the bet?
- seedy

Maybe, if Reinhart starts in the A, then Larsson can slot on the 3rd line C and have Girgensons on Eichels wing. But more than likely seems like there isnt going to be a spot for him in a year or so.

I think Larsson is on line 4

Kane O'Reilly Ennis
Moulson Eichel Girgensons
McGinn Reinhart Gionta
Deslauriers Larsson McCormick

Hodgson bought out
Legwand plays when someone needs a blow
Foligno hopefully traded for a Dman.

- Mentalorgasm5

I think we keep Foligno, he's a guy when healthy can play a lot of different roles. Not sure Larsson or McCormick have long lives as Sabres but time will tell.

I think ROR will be locked up very quickly, not sure you make that trade without knowing exactly what your going to have to pay him. For better or worse I think ROR is here for awhile.
- BigStew

The difference is Buffalo has the cap space and an owner willing to pay. He will be here for the next 7 years.

That and the other positive is we have the cap space AND haven't hit free agency yet. I don't think there are a ton of great players hitting the market, but we could become very difficult to play against in a very short time, even without Reinhart and Eichel.

Ha, that reminds me of Ace Ventura.....FINKLE AND EINHORN, EINHORN AND FINKLE.

What a great time to be a Sabres fan. Can't wait for the season to start.

As of now, I see the lines as follows:

Kane-RoR-Ennis
Moulson-Eichel-Girgensons
Gionta-Reinhart-Mcginn
Deslauriers-Larsson-Foligno

I don't see Legwand on the team. Might be waived. Murray basically said he was forced to take him in the deal today. So, he is not on this team by choice. Guess we'll see.

Larsson could be swapped with Mcginn. Depends on what you want to do with Larsson. I think he is too talented to be on the 4th line myself. I think they want Reinhart at C, they just didn't want to start him at the #2 C spot. I think they see him growing and learning on the 3rd line. That is, if he is even here. With ROR on the team now, maybe they take a step back and let him develop in Rochester for a while. They have more flexibility with ROR on the team now.

However it shakes out, this team is so much better than we were just a couple of months ago. Think about it.....Ennis was our best player last season. Now he is probably our 4th best player! That is a pretty great thing for us. Our 3 best players have never even dressed for us. Kind of crazy, but it's so exciting.

I know we still have a ways to go, but if we can solidify our D, I really think we're gonna make the Playoffs next season. Need another top 4 D, though. Maybe even another D besides that. But we're gonna be a fun team to watch, that's for sure.

Reinhart starting in the AHL and then making room for him at the trade deadline could be a wise decision.

Yeah, itd give Larsson a chance to build some trade value if he plays well. One thing I dont want to see happen is Reinhart being brought up in a non top six role. People attributes that to stunting Grigorenkos growth so Id rather that not happen to Samson.

I think reinhart will be fine on the 3rd line, Girgorenko was playing on the 4th line.

I think Reinhart starts on the wing. Putting him on the 3rd line with none scorers does him a disservice IMO. But if they stay with that lineup swap Gionta and McGinn. They play the other wings.

The 4th line could be the best in hockey

Foligno Larsson Deslauiers

That's a pain in the butt line.

As far as another poster suggesting about top 6 players on short contracts only ROR has 1 year left everyone else has at least 3. Nothing to worry about. I believe ROR will get signed July 1st. I just hope it's under a $7 million cap hit. $6.25 would be perfect IMO.

I run two dynasty leagues for hockey, one is in its 5th year, the other is a friends and family going into its first offseason. I tried last year to put one together with HockeyBuzzers, but didn't get enough interest.

If anyone is interested in doing one, please PM me, looking for 10, maybe 12 teams.

I am so content to enjoy summer knowing both the Bills and Sabres will be more competitive (also the Bulls but I know that isn't as big in everyone else's world). They aren't the exact decisions I would have made but they will help me sleep better at night.

Reinhart/girgensons/larssons would be decent.
Not too much pressure on Reinhart to shine right away. Sheilded by a couple of good 2-way players.

Everyone who doesn't want to give ROR $7 million a year realize he already makes $6 million right? He's going to get a raise of at least $1 million. That's just the way it is. People act like they are the ones who have to pay him for crying out loud.

After listening to Murray and Bylsma I get the sense Reinhart while he wont be handed a spot here, he will indeed play here all season. Weather that's 3rd line center or 2nd line winger who knows.

When's the last time the Bills and Sabres both made the playoffs in the same year? 99 right?

With foligno and gionta/mcginn. Not a fan. Reinhart dishes the puck he needs finishers.

That's why it would be incredible to see him on a line with Eichel and Moulson

I dont think its because we pay it, which we indirectly do, more of the fact, in most people's opinions, he isnt worth 7 million dollars a year. Remember how much poop Vanek took? He at least put up 80, 70 points, was a consant 60 point guy at the low end. And hit 40 goals a couple of times.

Not gonna lie. Much more promise for the Sabres today then there was yesterday. We got a starting goalie...ror and a decent winger. Rebuild is light years ahead of were it was just 16 hours ago.

With that being said....

Clown are you so happy they made these moves?

Now at least you have an excuse for why Reinhart isn't a 2c.

This would be my projected most lethal line up

Kane O'Riley Ennis
Moulson Eichel Reinhart
McGuinn Girgensons Gionta
Desluaries Larsson Foligino
McCormick Legwand

Martin (UFA) Ristolainen
Pysyk Bogosian
Georges Weber
McCabe? FA?
