To be fair, I think people would be merely happy for a few of the modest proposals we've been making all week to come good. I can't get excited about 2nd round picks, but it would be something.

Earlier in the week I wouldve been very happy with acquiring a 2nd, now I'm not so sure I'll feel the same by end of day

I guess people, IMO, need to realize the Canucks are a sinking ship. Benning had few assets to work with when he got here and a lineup full of vets with NTC's....slowly sinking to the bottom but that's a good thing in terms of turning things around.

The problem is, for that to work, we need assets, Bieksa and Hamhuis will walk at the end of the year for nothing, so will Lack and Markstrom for that matter... Actually, that doesn't sound all that bad...

It is tough to watch the teams in your division all "making something happen" and getting better while your team ponders potential moves for 2nd rounders. I suppose hope (as in for the #9) is all they have to hold on to.

I would have been very happy with 2nd rounders coming back. If Kevin Bieksa is on the roster at the beginning of the year I don't think I'll be watching too many games
