No need to panic yet. We want Lack and Bieksa traded at the draft. Makes ZERO difference if it's on Friday or Saturday.
There were a bunch of teams interested in acquiring a goalie. Only one has so far. Lots of options still available. - KB3Point0
Problem is other teams are tying to move their players too. it will be a buyers market |

Talbot, Niemi and Jones/Subban being available is what scares me about Lack.
The holdup with Bieksa/SJ also worries me, how often do trades get done after they've been close and then suddenly far apart. |

Not many dmen though, Phaneuf has a fat contract and there's Wideman from Calgary.
Sharp and Okposo are forwards. |

The rumour was there was 2x2nd round picks and Bieksa was going to be extended 4yrsx4.5 mil . One of the picks was a 2016 so Canucks nixed it. That is why I am pissed - VANTEL

Still hoping they trade both Bieksa and Lack for seconds, Benning got greedy with Bieksa(maybe he's aware that fans are ripping on him for his negotiations). - Nucker101

1040 said Canucks nixed it according to Sekeres who was at the draft - VANTEL
Each season you get sucked further into the rumor vortex and no longer remember that most of what we hear is inaccurate, pure speculation or fabrication and it's always competitive with the next bull sh!tter who's trying to one up every rumor. Rumors are still fun without being sucked into them. |

Goalie market hasn't changed since 7am and the D market hasn't changed much either (yet...). |

Story reminds me of Joe Sakic. Lost teammates in a bus accident and Boeser seems to have that same quiet resolve about him |

Yup. Kuzma was mouthing off all day a series of unsupported and farfetched musings and 1040 jumped on any grain of anything interesting as soon as it came up. I listened to that Dreger interview and he specifically said that he was simply speculating what he thought the return likely was, that he hadn't actually heard anything and lo and behold it's passed off not only as a rumour but as fact |

Talbot, Niemi and Jones were always in play. Just saying that there isn't any reason to worry any more than there was this morning.
The Bieksa trade apparently falling through is a little worrisome, but as the deal did not include a 1st it could just as easily be negotiation. Especially if there actually is a team out east with interest. |

I tend to think that a lot will be done overnight. I think a lot of the GMs are a bit shellshocked at the Boston Massacre (i.e. the Hamilton/Lucic debacle) and are trying to see what the market is now for their players. If Bieksa/Lack/Markstrom/whoever is going to be traded, we'll hear about it early in the morning because I believe the draft starts Round 2 at 8 am EST. I don't think people are going to be sleeping tonight.
Purely for for my own masterbatory fantasy, but Jensen + 2016 conditional pick to Nashville for Colton Sissons and a 2015 3rd. |

Thanks for the link, Gullzy. Some good articles about both his on-ice and off-ice life. It looks like the kid has a lot of character and persevered through some really tough times. |

I'd take a 3rd for Jensen at this point and call it a win
But yea there will be lots going down in the morning. After wasting my whole day I can't justify staying up |

1 person says something whether legit, speculation or repeating BS.... then because everyone in the media repeats it... it becomes a wealth of sources and is accepted as fact by the majority of fans. They will argue that speculation is fact by how many people believe it... even when that is irrelevant to whether it's true or not. Most of what we hear is inaccurate but alarmingly, most of it is repeated like it's factual.

Good way to cut your losses with Barzel who is a beauty.
Reinhart hasn't ever shown form that proved him to be drafted 4th overall.

Reinhart wasn't going to make the isles next year and is behind pulock and mayfield, so while I was surprised he was moved, I am excited with the return. |

Hence Jim Gillis - Retinalz
All because, he hasn't fixed everything in his second draft?
Never mind the fact that he had no time to prepare for the first draft.
Jesus... With all the pi$$ing and moaning... I'm not even sure we deserve a winner.
This is going to take time guys. It's a sellers market-- Lot's of teams trying to dump their bad contracts and aging players.
Much is to be settled yet, but the Canucks are not losing the 2016 or 2017 Stanley Cup because, of the first round of this draft.
