not sure what people expect? Obviously no one was offering more than a 3rd so you trade him for what you can get. Market for goalies sucks. Eddie Lack is a great guy, yet to be determined if he'll be a great goalie.

Miller is the starter, Markstrom the backup, in 2 years Markstrom is the starter (hopefully) and Demko is then waiting in the wings.

All because, he hasn't fixed everything in his second draft?

Never mind the fact that he had no time to prepare for the first draft.

Jesus... With all the pi$$ing and moaning... I'm not even sure we deserve a winner.

This is going to take time guys. It's a sellers market-- Lot's of teams trying to dump their bad contracts and aging players.

Much is to be settled yet, but the Canucks are not losing the 2016 or 2017 Stanley Cup because, of the first round of this draft.

I'm saying Jim Gillis because he is having troubles saying yes to deals in place. If SJ thought they had enough of a deal to start contract negs with bieksa's agentand it is not done yet with rumors that JB decided he no longer likes the deal, that is very MG like with trades.

Yep was obviously a huge market for Miller but Benning didn't want to sift through all the offers coming through so was easier to deal Lack.

D-Core is in need of some fixing. I remember that you are high on Clendenning, but I hope people don't expect him and Corrado to improve the corps next season. We would be lucky if performances remained static.

They will be great players in 2-3 seasons imo

Eddie Lack is so overrated by Canuck fans it's laughable, obviously he's not viewed around the league as anything special.

We pretty much are painted in a corner right now. Our assets are too hard to move, and we aren't willing to give up futures. Benning has been purchasing lottery tickets in hopes of hitting the jackpot, but the odds are stacked against him. I'm sure we will see some movement in regards to Bieksa and a goalie, but we are in for a rude awakening next season. I honestly didn't expect our rivals were going to make big moves. Caught me completely off guard. My outlook for next season is completely different then it was 24 hours ago.

I am completely onboard with bottom feeding nextseason

LeBrun is reporting they never had a deal in place. Nucks wanted a 2015 second round pick and the Sharks were offering a 2016.

BREAKING: Eddie Lack has been dealt to the #hurricanes.

The Vancouver Canucks are sending the 27-year-old goaltender to the Hurricanes in exchange for a third-round pick in Saturday’s draft and a seventh-rounder next year, according to two sources.

Eddie Lack traded to Carolina. And I believe the Hurricanes are moving Khubodin to another team today.

If the Blackhawks were the dynasty of the last decade, the Islanders are going to be the dynasty of the next decade. Holy poop are they stacked.
- Gullzy

Possible the Isles might be able to bring it all together.

Since Detroit wasn't considered a dynasty how can Chicago be? Now if CHI had won 3 in row...

Oilers were the last real dynasty pretty sure it's gonna end there.

We have overrated him a bit here. Not defending Benning but they must have a keen eye on someone to let Lack go for a third. Will be interesting to see the pick.

He's a backup goaltender who was pulled in the playoffs for a guy that was/is injured. Plus he was signed by the Gillis regime for free out of Sweden. I'm so glad he's gone so people can move on.

Lack to CAR for a 3rd and a 7th?!

What the (frank)? Should have kept him if that's all you could get. So not impressed with Benning's action so far this draft.

Now Benning just needs to ship out Bieksa for a second and we're good to go for the rest of the draft

Agreed. And I've said it before we need to absolve ourselves of everything from the Luongo era minus the Sedins. Lack was mentored by Lou and it will not hurt us to let Lack move on to a team that wants him as a starter (potentially).

Bieksa should have been gone yesterday. Maybe my prediction of Bieksa in a Canuck uni at season's start will ring true Vantel??
