I'm pretty close to giving up on him. If a team offered me a 4th for him, I'd probably take it.

How many goals did Petr Nedved have in his rookie? Joe Thornton? Martin St Louis?

Well in this specific case it would be Clendening who needs to be on the roster or we risk losing him on waivers. I don't know Lefty, maybe they decided they wanted to play hockey in July? You said be patient but they don't have all the time in the world
- bezz44

There's room for Clendening with only Hamhuis, Bieksa, Edler and Tanev guaranteed spots. Plus once you've asked Bieksa to waive he's as good as gone.

Henrik Zetterberg was drafted 210th.
- Scooby_Doo

I hope in 6th round we take a chance on some players that will be in ahl next year instead of an 18 y/o. Get someone that could have palat upside if that exists in this draft.

... Lack to CAR for a 3rd and next year's 7th

JB better be this great scout/talent evaluator, because right now he can't even get any value for any of his players. Buckle up folks, it's going to be a long, painful decade to come.

Those guys likely flashed sign of "having it", Vey really didn't Usually us bi-polars scream for young guys to get more ice time and act like little schoolgirls when they have even one good shift but he really never showed promising flashes. He's not explosive, not strong and while he's a decent passer and has decent skill that's about it.

Nothing wrong with admitting that he's been underwhelming so far.

No - he got a third and used it on a good pick - I'm all good with what he's done!

You're in a forgiving mood this morning.

I just wish JB could have got rid of some of the dead weight off this team instead of the one players that still had some use to this team.

I agree the goaltender position is crowded but man do I wish JB would have been able to swing a deal for KB and other dead end players. I know there is still time but the draft is a good place to get a bit more value for your junk.

Oh well. Here's to the slow methodical retool.

Yea that's all I'm saying is that what we have right now is not going to work. At least Bieksa needs to leave and probably a forward

Well according to the polar Canuck brain trust here Edler = Lidstrom and Burrows= Yzerman
- VANTEL

That's only in your mind....no one actually thinks that poop - I know in your mind it's as simple as Doughty for a 3rd and weber for 2 seconds and Ryan Stanton but elite demon don't grow on trees...who replaces Edler? Seriously......

I don't mind burrows as a 3rd or 4th line guy....it's just unfortunate about that contract....he's untradeable...

Underwhelming for sure but he's been a scorer his whole life, I'm willing to see him through one more year....

TL sounding very defensive about the Lack trade
Said they passed on a late second because it was within the division - says they probably would have taken Brisebois anyways

And txt kind of simple thinking will get you a 23- 25 pick every year , waste your cap space and watch value decrease.

I say keep the dead weight so that we plummet next year and possibly get a lottery pick and deal the dead weight at the TDL for a premium.

Sadly, it doesn't look like we'll get a sniff at the playoffs next year....

JB knows what he's doing. FA mandates the playoffs and JB makes it look like he's trying all the while the team gets older and pooptier....

Burrows kills penalties, agitates like no other got 18 goals in 70 games and now gets paid exactly what hes worth. No need to trade burrows. Higgins for anything, Bieksa for anything and my god why is sbisa here. other than that were trending in the right direction forsure

Where do you honestly see him in 2-3 years time? For me hes not good enough and his style of play im not a fan of. If I could deal him now and get a 4th I pull the trigger and have his spot open up for gaunce, shink or cassels.
