You and booner are preaching a slow and steady rebuild. Which is understandable. Others, including myself, Re preaching a much faster approach. Both approaches have the same conclusion. Just different timelines. Not sure why this topic is so controversial. Both have been shown to work if managed properly.
This team is tearing us apart!!! - bloatedmosquito
If anyone of you have watched world war Z. This draft reminded me of the part where the Palestinians came into Israel for shelter from the zombies and were holding hands and singing songs ( when Bieksa rumours came out). Then the zombies invaded and it was everyone for themselves ( after the draft) |

I'm saying go as fast as you can but I understand it's not a video game. Trust me, sooner is better but I'm being realistic. |

That's a stupid statement, sorry but it is. The Flames and Oilers and been losing for years while piling up prospects and picks to make those kinds of moves. You can't compete with what they have when you're winning and going to the finals. - LeftCoaster
Agreed, I don't even have the words to describe how trivial and simple. That statement is. A little critical thinking and you can figure out why Calgary and Edmonton were able to do what they did.... |

In one year Benning got us happier and younger.
A vet goalie to watch over markstrom as he becomes a monster
A top 6 winger in sven with skill
A potential top 4 with pp qb ability in clendening
Another top 6 in Virtanen
Another top 6 in McCann
Yet another potential top six with size in Boeser
A great young 3rd line center in Bonino he's not a 2nd he's a 3rd with a salary of 1.9 for 3 more ears great trade.
Got dorsett who is a beauty 3rd 4th line leader
Moved out a back up goalie for a few picks meh
We will see what Vey becomes meh
Missed on Garrison big time
Sbisa was and is terrible should have tried to trade him not extend him
Needs to move bieksa and higgy for picks still may happen
All in all Benning is doing a fantastic job. - The_Kuze
Totally ok with what he's done so far. |

Yes of course...if I didn't like what he's done I'd say so. Do I have a choice in his decisions, no obviously. Doesn't mean I can't speak my mind. |

I think slow and steady is better for the development of the team. You need the right veterans to guide the youth hence the Sedins and Hamhuis and to an extent Bieksa.
I'd love a rebuild too but I'm not sure I'd enjoy blowing the ship up and sucking cock for 5 years just to possibly draft enough high end talent to contend.
I like JB's approach.....trade prospects/picks for prospects with a high ceiling not likely getting an opportunity in their current organization. Speeds up the process.
It's not perfect but I loathe the lean years that I grew up with 1982-1992..... |

Lottery changes again next year, it's going to be harder and harder to "tank", simply missing the playoffs means you can still win the first overall. |

You are incorrect in what I'm preaching. I want it done as fast as possible but I'm not fooling myself.
I'm sure JB thinks the same way. Thats why he has been trading picks and prospects for prospects who are much closer to being ready. People keep over looking that. I like the baertchi trade. How does that translate into slow rebuild?

It's just not sexy if it's not a top 3 pick fifty years in a row...... |

I don't think they make the playoffs next year anyways.
Here's my prediction - they are close to the playoffs but decide to purge the roster at the TDL next year, then a true build will be on the books. |

It's a shame none of us get a vote, all we can do is not go to the games, that's the only message we can send. |
