I'm wondering what Benning could have offered to get it done if that was the best return for Hamilton.

That Calgary/Bos trade is up on the tracker, maybe the nhl isn't holding the trades back?

So Edler for Lucic and a 1st lol.... If sweeney is dumb enough to trade a 22 yr old franchise Dman for slim chance of an equal replacement player, he might be down

Seems pretty fair for Boston trades

Bold move by CGY to acquire Hamilton; will have to wait to see what's BOS angle, sounds like there may be more (Lucic?) to come.

Boston realizing they're badly in need of a re-tool, need to get younger and stock the Cupboards.

Great move to start the re-tool by trading a 22 y/o top pairing dman for a bunch of lottery tickets

Which is exactly why they should have re-signed Hamilton.

If I'm boston at this point I'd be listening to offers on all there players now.

Especially Krejci, Bergeron and Rask.

Apparently they didn't like his asking price and their cap space is a bit in the poopter from Chiareli? Plus - the days not over for them and the season doesn't start until October.

Boston has years of hockey experience in their front office, don't you dare question them.

True story, I stopped at a tackle shop this morning, and wandered around for a bit. The clerk could see that I was lost so he came and asked if he could help me with anything. I said that I was looking for Dragon Fly Nymphs. He looks at me like I'm an idiot and says they're right there and points to a display right in front of my face. Oh I say, which ones? Now he's looking at me like he's scared that I'm going to start drooling on myself. All of them, he said.

There are a couple of ways to fish them...heavy ones will drag on or near bottom and look natural.... the deer hair ones will float above bottom when you let your full sinking line lay on bottom so when you retrieve... it scoots along a couple of feet off bottom never snagging up on you. That can be deadly as well. Concentrate on the drop offs... that's where the big bows like to hunt dragons in the mid day... morning evening along weed beds(low light conditions).

Fishing flies is not going to work too well on spinning gear if that's what you are doing but something like heavy dragonfly nymphs or weighted leeches can be effectively trolled like any other gear. I wouldn't use it with a gang troll though.

My favorite way to fish dragons is on windy days. I just drift the length of the lake wind trolling them down deep. A 15km wind will drift my boat 2kmph. The boat likes to roll in the chop a bit which give the fly an evenly timed pull on each roll. It is the most effective troll I've ever experienced. Turn the boat sideways to the wind and hang 2 rods off... hold one of them though... or if the bite is hot hold both and when you hook up, stick the other in the rod holder and play out the fish.

Hope this helps.

Apparently Boston really wants that 3rd pick for Boston College kid Hanafin?? (frank) they traded a lot of good young players away??

But they did win a Stanley Cup only four years ago

Has boston really gotten anything from these trades.

Seguin for eriksson
Hamilton for not even a pick in the top 10

I would have required the pick be inside the top 10.

After 12 in this draft it is murky as hell.

Great stat on twitter. historical % of the picks turning into 200GP players are 57% 28% and 26% respectively. Basically Boston just traded a young stud for a bunch of lottery tickets and even if one pans out, he'll be lucky to be a core player.

Trading for Lucic is the exact OPPOSITE of what this organization needs to be doing.

Just when they take one step in the right direction they take 2 steps back.

- classic321

My god man we can't continue to be the punching bags of the western conference. Get a little toughness in the lineup so the kids have a little space out there while they develop. We can totally work around a guy like Lucic. He is badly needed in our lineup.

Boychuk and Hamilton gone within 10 months, and they're both top-15 RD. We've simply never seen salary cap mismanagement of this magnitude.

You can add Boychuk to that list. Really good for them that they won a Cup a few years back because it doesn't look they're setting up for any kind of notable future.
