Tomek is one of the latest goalies that could be drafted from the North American Hockey League. He made the jump to the United States with Topeka this year coming from Slovakia where he competes internationally. Tomek immediately made an impact in the NAHL, posting otherworldly numbers this season. He is a big, athletic goalie that is incredibly solid. Tomek is most comfortable down in the butterfly and gets down very quickly, making it very difficult to beat him low to either side. He uses his size well when he gets down cutting off all of the net and creating very few opportunities for opposing shooters to score. His footwork is fantastic, cutting down angles and staying square to the shooter. He competes in front of the net fighting through screens and does a really nice job tracking the puck. It’s very hard to say anything negative about his game but on the rare occasion that Tomek does get beat, it’s usually top shelf glove side. He is one of our favorite goalies in the draft and will be a great get for whoever takes him. Tomek will advance on to the University of North Dakota in the fall of 2015.
