Vorobyov, Mikhail LC – Tolpar (MHL) – 6’2” 194 HockeyProspect.com Ranking: 160

A regular feature on this season U18 Russian national team, Vorobyov is a two-way centerman that can be relied upon in all situations because of his complete game. Is a good faceoff man with legit size, he is consistently responsible and uses his strong hockey sense on both sides of the puck. His good defensive play sometimes takes away from the offensive opportunities he is given on his teams, but he can be an effective player in the offensive zone, using his linemates to create opportunities. He sees the ice well and uses his poise to make clever plays and execute good passes. He is a good stickhandler who can slow down the play with the puck on his stick.

Perhaps the best part of his game is how he is able to cycle the puck along the end boards, he constantly shifts away from the defenseman while protecting the puck. Mikhail is a sound skater, but lacks a change of speed and his agility is average. He needs to improve the aerobic aspects of his game. He possesses an accurate wrister, but to finish more of his chances he has to become quicker.

In other words, he has to be in better shape to take advantage of his skill.

I suspect these D men moves will come after FA dies down a bit. Its a weak FA crop. Shouldn't take long.

I'm more concerned with VLC and Umberger being on the Flyers. Expensive dead wood is counterproductive, and bad for business.

i agree, either after fa ends or after camp when teams see what they have or injuries, I'm sure nobody is knocking the doors down for the flyers d-men it will be out of need versus want

I'm kind of surprised the Devils went with Blackwood. They are so devoid of talent up front its ridiculous.
