Love the Kane trade, Love the ROR trade, Lehner trade not thrilled with but we will see.
He doesnt over pay, we are just used to DR doing nothing unless he can rob a team, Murray wants a player he does something about it. I like that. And no, he won't win every trade, but at least he's making moves and bringing in front line players. - Homer
I agree. They asked TM that very question earlier and he said, "I'm not trying to "win" a trade, I'm trying to make the Sabres a better team" |

I agree, nothing against Samson, but the management has more options with ROR and Legwand to ease him in, if he excels during training camp, ok, but His number one attribute is his hockey sense and ease at which he makes plays, that isn't going away if he plays 30-40 games with the big club and some down in the A. - MEBSabresFAN
Lets say we don't bring in any other forwards and Sam starts in Roch...
Kane Eichel Moulson
Ennis ROR Gionta
Folingo Girgs McGinn
DLO Larsson Legwand |

Nice
This is why getting a Proven Talent like ROR was worth every penny, the team wants to develop the 2 highest Centermen ever drafted by the Sabres since Gilbert and Sneaky Pete.
P.S. Imagine if Echiel or McDavid were one year apart? We would have lost out on BOTH! |

eichel, reinhart, girgens, ennis foligno, pysyk, risto, weber
prospects
mccabe, baptiste, bailey, petersen, ullmark, karabacek, malone, cornel, hurley, florentino, martin
lots of drafted players in the organization still - homiedclown
Outside of the first 3 u list, I doubt any of them spend significant time above our 3rd pair or 4th line |

You must be referring to Just our prospects?
Its a bit early to know for certain about them, but you never know.
Just ask Ottawa how it worked out with Stone (5th Rd) and Hoffman (5th Rd)
P.S. Murray was involved in scouting them I think |

Petry got 5.5 for 6
I'd rather pay jaybow 5.4 for 4
we have the money, it's 4 years from now when it gets tight - homiedclown
He's a little old for our timeline,
But StL prob wants to she'd Cap
I'm guessing tues want a guy like Pysyk though
I'd pass
Rather have Pysyk for the next 10yrs than Jbo for the next 3/4
I wonder who we could reasonable get that's a younger guy
Hamilton would've been great, but I guess it makes sense that Boston wouldn't wanna move him to us |

We have improved our scouting staff considerably.
DarcyVision is no longer in use
Remember when Darcy was lauded after the lockout for his forsight? It went to his head as they decided it would be more economical for Golisano to go to Video Scouts |

Well you can only have 6 guys in your top 6 (Look, I can do math) and we already have, well 6. So why do we need these prospects to be anything but 3-4th line guys??
The six btw are Eichel, ROR, Reinhart, Kane, Ennis, Girgs.....I'm not even counting Moulson because I'm think more in a few years, not next season. |

All you people complaining we made trades are the same people that wanted us to get better faster. Well we did. You guys are not comprehending that we didn't trade prospects for 30 year old rentals or over the hill players. We traded prospects for 23-24 year olds. Those are basically guys only a couple years older than our "prospects" except they are all star/Olympic caliber players. murray did very VERY well this weekend. |

Can we afford to pay all those guys 7mil + on their next contracts?
BC there's potential for all of them to outscore ROR
And Risto & Bogo will get paid
And if Lehner ends up being the #1 Murray says, he's getting 6mil a year too
I'm more looking down the line I guess |

If this is our biggest problem then life is good. It really is amazing how - presumably because we've never won - we have become concerned that we might become good.
If we can't pay some of them down the line then we do what Colorado did. Circle of NHL life.

It's still an excellent draft regardless of what Murray does. It isn't like we're losing guys because of jammed fax machines. |

That's a fair point
I guess once we win a couple Cups & have to let players go, then I can be pissed
But if we don't win....

Sure, but at least the Sharks tried. Other teams were just better. |
