Was worried about that too but at this point i think they'll overpay to keep him. Worst case scenario he gets moved again but i doubt murray risks him walking next year.

That is only true with the first 5 picks in the first round, after that the odds are pretty even throughout the 1st round. 2nd is a crap-shoot, and 3-7 is almost a zero percent chance of hitting.

But dont take my word for it, look through the past drafts.

I'm not slitting my wrists or anything here
But there should be concerns as to what's going on at the moment
I think ppl are just praising Murray BC we got used to Datcy not doing much of anything

Making the WRONG move is worse than doing nothing

I doubt we get a "Zadorov" back

Prob a 1st & mid level prospect

I'd be a lot more ok with it if I didn't think ROR was gonna screw up the salary structure
And I happen to like Compher a lot & dislike some of our other prospects a lot
Hurley, Cornel, Karabacek, Carrier... And quite a few others I'd have rather given up

Murray was very indifferent about Compher. I heard him say it in an interview. He liked Baptiste a lot, Bailey too. He said Compher, he hadn't made up his mind about.

And this is what some people don't get, Murray will have no currency in 3 or 4 years when we need to add at the deadline or offseason.

Yes but you are worrying about guys who might work out, when we landed two guys we now that will, Kane and O'Reilly, and one guy who has shown flashes, Lehner.

I am not sure if people truly understand how bad the odds are in the draft, even the odds of the 1st round. Its nowhere near as high as the NFL.

Also nobody on these boards knows Lehner better than Tim Murray. You don't have to like the trade, I'm not a fan either, but the trade itself does make sense. He got a goalie under 25 he feels can be a number 1 on a contending team.

I'm not saying you have to like it, but to say it doesn't make sense isn't true if you've listened to what Murray has said he is trying to build.

Too much Darcy move here still. Everyone, even other bloggers on this site, are praising the sabres. Gibson and lehner has the highest ceilings if the available goalies, only one was available, we grabbed him.

I wouldn't be surprised if the oilers were offering 33 for Lehner and Ottawa called us and said it's got to be 21 to send him in division.

We absolutely needed a goalie that bad. The big thing about Lehner is he had 2 years left on his contract and then a RFA, not a UFA to be after this coming season like Talbot and Lack.

Like I said before I wasn't happy about it, but if it was 31 instead of 21, then 21 was going for ROR.
