I'm really getting worried that they keep picking players you didn't even list.

WTF?

True, and he does deserve credit there.

I just feel that he needs to be more aggressive. Over the years, I believe it's safe to say that Stan and Co. aren't not know for being ballsy. The rest of the league is trying to catch up to them, and at some point he needs to roll the dice and deal a prospect or two , or make an unpopular move.

He gets credit for taking guys who fell, whether or not it was somewhat fortunate, he/they ultimately did wind up drafting the player, regardless of the round.

Their core has a lot of miles on them. Very happy miles from my perspective, but still, they have to prepare for that and start acquiring the future core members.

Really hard to get CORE players with the success they've had if not impossible. I think Saad, TT and we shall see abut Schmaltz in a few years were huge draft picks.

This years 1st round pick may translate as Panarin he may be a real gem.

Great point. They obviously do. Stan has a good hand and he is holding it. Some teams will miss out on free agents like Williams and Beleskey.... Renewed demand then?
- tredbrta

I think what we are seeing is Stan Bowman knowing what his players he's seeking to trade are worth, and trying to maximize their return. Just because a draft happened, doesn't mean he's not going to come close to eventually getting it.

People point to Leddy as being a desperation trade. They got Pokka in that deal, and I think he has a chance to be a better player, long term, than Leddy.

He knows exactly what he's doing in regards to the Saad situation. If it's moving salary to make sure he's signed, or if he's already relegated to the idea that Saad may have to be moved himself... that is the question.

Also tweeted by another person and retweeted by Second City Hockey:
@MarkLazerus: Tim Murray and Stan Bowman have been spotted together...
But...
@JamesNeveau: Everyone talking about the Murray/Bowman pow-wow: I'd almost guarantee they're just chatting. Maybe a pick swap.

Big centre-wing whose development is hampered by lack of foot speed, acceleration in stop/starts. Relishes using his body to play aggressively, and back checks hard, but his puck skills and offensive output- needs plenty of time

The draft happening means there is no incentive to teams to deal for Sharp (or anyone else) now instead of waiting until they see what happens July 1. And once free agency starts, the supply of teams able to add Sharp numbers to their cap starts dropping, while Chicago's need to trade him gets more acute.

Sure, Sharp could be traded for a massive haul tomorrow... but how things normally go suggest that's unlikely.

Talent Analysis

Joni Tuulola 6'2" 182

Tuulola is the son of HPK's all-time leading scorer, forward Marko Tuulola, so it's no surprise that offense is a big part of his game. He possesses a lot of skill and skates well. While he has played an abrasive game at times, he is still developing in terms of size and strength and will need to improve in both areas to compete at the higher levels of pro hockey.

Future

Tuulola projects to being an offensive defenseman at the pro level. Not yet at the level that a player like Sami Vatanen (ANH) was at this stage of his junior career, Tuulola is a bit bigger and does play a physical game at times. Like most young players, will have to add size and strength to compete at the pro level but his transition game fits well with the faster pace of today's NHL.

I fully enjoy the 3 cups we have under various GM's but Kane's injury saved Stan's bum this year and gave him a second shot at picking up pieces/adding salary. In my opinion, the Hawks don't win without the new pieces. He needs to stop being butt-tight about trades & pickups.

Lanky second year eligible two-way defenseman with a calm demeanor and lots of likable qualities. he was noticeable at the World Junior Under -18 where he made effective plays at both ends. An excellent passer out of his zone and good puck handling ability. Has good feet but needs lower body strength that will make him quicker and more agile. Still a empty canvass in parts of his development but already has a high hockey IQ and plays smart, and just needs to grow his game and body a bit more.
