Flyers have $6.4 and change in cap space and only need to signings. Why are they saying they need more space? |

Any word on development camp invites, Bill? Guys you think maybe would be ideal to invite? - mochoson
Hextall said last year that he is not a big fan of bringing in multiple unaffiliated invites; wants to focus on attention to players who are under organizational umbrella. |

Flyers need scoring. Gagner can score. Since there isn't much cap pressure if they stand pat I'd keep him. |

If we're just gonna trade Grossmann for Gagner and buyout Gagner, couldn't we have simply bought out Grossmann, while going in another direction with this deal? I'm happy to have Pronger off the books by why not Umberger or Lecavalier? - SuperSchennBros
Does Arizona trade you a 4th rd pick for Pronger's contract on it's own? Seems like they wouldn't have otherwise I do that and take anything I can get for Grossman. |

Grossmann was a far bigger cap hit if bought out-rather than a 1/3rd cap hit for Gagner, being under 26 and shared by Tampa Bay-and was also Arizona's primary target.
The deal sees the Flyers lose $7.91mm in cap obligations to Grossmann and Pronger, get a guy in Gagner that is a very cheap buy out-which adds even more to the potential cap space gained-or add a guy that can be a middle 6 forward option.
For the Coyotes, they get $7.91mm closer to the salary floor and only have to spend about $4mm over two years to do it. They also get the bonus of not having to spend more cash on the Gagner buy out, which they had fully planned to do this week.
The deal didn't work for Umberger or Lecavalier, because they are both owed too much money. Umberger's salary matches his cap hit, so Arizona would have to pay $4.5mm a year to him. Lecavalier is owed $10.5mm more over three years. Pronger is only owed $575K in actual dollars in each of the next two years, so it's an easy way for Arizona to be in compliance with the salary floor.
Grossmann's buy out would be $1.166mm in each of the next two years. Gagner's buyout will cost the Flyers about $ 600K less. |

if the pick turns to the 3rd and Arizona still sucks then it is a better trade |

Coming up in a hurry: Morin or Ghost. But they'll start with the vets, at first - AllInForFlyers
I'd have Streit on the right side of Mevedev but otherwise that seems accurate. I said over and over last season that I don't like MDZ with Schenn because he takes too many risks for Luke's slow feet to deal with, so hopefully Hakstol agrees. |

It would be great if Zacha busts and Provorov goes on to become a #1 defenseman. |
