You can't just keep trading away superstars and keep making excuses for why it's okay.

Oates, Bourque, Thornton, Kessel, Seguin, Hamilton............

At some point the excuses don't matter anymore. I think that this MUST be that point or.......DAMN!

The job of a GM is to construct a winning team...........I don't care if the players are lovable and cuddly.

This doesn't help make a winning team.......don't care about the excuses......there is a CBA and we had Hamilton's rights, simple.

Jack Eichel might now want to play for Buffalo.......to bad! You were drafted by them and now you play for them!

Boston is the best team in the league at trading away superstars before they hit their prime. I don't understand it myself.

It's like they have a talent cap. "You can be THIS good, if you go over you're (frank)ing gone." It's the reason Bergeron doesn't score 70 points anymore, he wants to stick around.

I bet Jacobs family owns the company. It all makes sense now. The return on investment is far greater with Ibuprofen than the $10.00 beer they sell at home games that taste like crap and you need Ibuprofen after drinking 2 because your heads is pounding. The Jacobs have it down! The rich get richer.

The worst thing is they are all still playing. Could you imagine having Thornton with Kessel and Lucic on his wing?

Has anyone added up the point total of all the superstar players the Bruins traded versus the return they received? That would be an interesting statistic. I am pretty sure Joe Thorton has more points than Wayne Primo (spelling)...

Marco Sturm was the best German forward in the NHL though.

That game took a giant few steps back into the wrong direction!

I loved "Be a Pro" mode in the other NHL games and it is unplayably bad for 15!

The whole NHL15 experience was garbage, didn't like the deceptive nature of the release either. Holding back reviews until after the game was released so that loyal customers get (frank)ed over.

Yeah. It was horrible.

Worst part is that Bergy was on the cover of such a crappy game.

The best game was 09 with Phaneuf on the cover.

Just wait until Chicago wins another cup and they have a Blackhawks shower scene on the cover.

Welcome to the Salary Cap era when you have to get rid of players because they want too much money. Sounds just like the US economy Take from the rich and give to the poor. Lets have parity with talent spread out to all teams equally. Now that is the American way

Who's next to go?

Dennis S
Marchand
Loui

Those 3 would clear up 12.75

Sweeney should be the next to go.

Hold on a minute. I'm drinking and crying as much as anyone else due to yesterday, but come on. Bourque was traded to go win a cup for his last year, I wouldn't consider them trading him trading away superstar talent. In addition, from what I call everyone loved the Kessel trade when it happened. Now there is backlash saying Toronto won? Boston wins a cup and has Jared Knight (if they still do, irrelevant I guess anyways), Erikson, Smith, Morrow, and their prospects from yesterday. Toronto has Kessel (or whatever they trade him for). Advantage still Bruins.

In addition, if you evaluate the Seguin offer as an intellect, you find that Boston would not have been able to dump Peverley with him, clearing that cap room which allowed them to sign Iginla. It's ALL relative.

IN ADDITION, Thornton was my favourite player at the time, but that was the start of the franchise being turned around. That trade doesn't happen, then boston doesn't sign Savard. And Sturm was a good player, and Stuart wasn't a bad defender either.

IN ADDITIONNNNNN, I can't defend the Hamilton trade, yet anyways because I hate it, but we'll see what happens....

It's almost as if they sent him to Calgary to spite Chiarelli
- Tumbleweed

I won't even lie: It sounds totally insane, but it crossed my mind, too

It's crazy that not every team in the league knew he was out there, or that they might have said they would only deal him to the West

In a capped league, you cannot do that. You have to have a straight-up auction, best offer wins, with a player like that

Because the rule of thumb is this: Yeah, anybody can be traded. But you only get to trade them once

As a Canucks fan I thought I would really enjoy how Sweeney dismantled Boston. But I actually feel real bad for this franchise. I will be praying for this team.

I kinda went to an extreme, yes.

But the point I am trying to make is that we trade away these guys for one reason or another and have all sorts of new excuses each time we do it.

It's exhausting!

How many other teams have traded away this many really good players over the last couple decades? It can't be many.

Why can't we keep a stud player that is entering there prime for once? We have had the joy to watch Bergy, but most of the other guys I listed are in the running for Art Ross Trophies, Hart Trophies, Hamilton will be a top five Norris Trophy guy if not a winner in a couple years.

We have Bergy and Rask and I love those two guys. But, seriously.........we have let some STUD top NHL talent walk away or get traded.

As a fan I'm scared to buy a jersey.........I'm nervous my Bergy sweeter will be outdated. Would have thought a Hamilton jersey was the second most safe bet!

I say this genuinely, I am really sorry for that debacle Bruins fans, this just seemed as bad as the Thornton trade in 06.

As for Lucic , I was expecting Sweeney would of gotten some key pieces from LA to at least shore up the defence after trading Hamilton ,Jones is Good and all, but backup goalies will be of plenty come July 1st.

And also surprised Barzal was not selected, there's a reason Snow pounced To nab him at 16.

I am so done with this team. I have been a loyal and devout Bruins fan since 1979. This series of moves just makes me sick. It is like something out of a movie. At the end, we're going to find out that Sweeney was working for Calgary all along.

Seriously though, it boggles the senses. Hamilton is already a top-20 d-man in the league. What will he be in five years? Answer: A LOT better than the combined three picks we got for him.

Let me know when Sweeney is fired so I can return to rooting for an NHL team. For now, thank F%$# it's baseball season. GO CUBBIES!!!

I'm just wondering if letting Boychuk go was actually Chiarelli's doing after seeing this screwup.
