Would have been sweet if they traded Dougie here. Probably would have got more from us too.

Well at least you're being honest and telling it like it is and not being a complete homer, a la Garth.

I really dont get these moves at all, if this was to try to win a cup, major fail. And if it was to rebuild/retool...again major fail.

Letting Boychuk go was the first mistake, should of bit the bullet on Hamiltion, D-men like that just dont grow on trees, could of traded Chara to a cup contender and kept Hamilton to fill his spot for the next 6-8 years.

Horrible.

And Seguin.. still cant figure that out, I dont care how much he parties, the guy can play, he went #2 overall who trades a guy like that??

Lucic love or hate him, he was a true Bruin through and through, another Cam Neely type. Should of kept him could be a big loss to the room. Again, scoring power forwards like that just don't fall out of the sky.

His teammates are probably at home going WTF just happened!

For a team that couldn't recover from the loss of Boychuk ALL YEAR last year, How the HELL do we actually think the blueline will perform taking the 2 of them out of the equation? And almost $3 mill a year for McQuaid?? I thought it would be easy to figure out this offseason- Paille, Soderberg, Campbell, McQuaid all walk- deal two of Lucic, Kelly or Krecji for cap space - let the kids fill the spots up front (Spooner, Khoko) try to add a scoring winger and add a blueliner- NOT subtract your BEST defenceman!
To add insult to injury- Reilly Smith starts at $3 mill+ this year...WTF? Like seriously, where do we go from here???

This team is going to be bad next year.

I don't get this at all. Honestly the lucic trade made sense. You guys got a better return for eating cap. The Hamilton trade is one of the worst I've seen. You guys are in a dangerous position. Dare I say leaf-like?

Sweeney went full retard. As an fan of another organisation that has often in the past done the same thing, you have my heartfelt condolences.

Man Sweeney (frank)ed you guys hard. I would've paid more than that for Dougie for sure!!! Lucic deal was an alright return if you weren't paying half of the salary. I like the Zboril pick, but Debrusk and Senyshyn could've been had way later. Going off the board isn't really what you want to be doing when you've traded away the face of and the future of the franchise. The Carlo, Andersson, and Vlader picks were very nice. All in all not a great day for the franchise though.

Flames fan here.

Great blog. While I'm pumped Hamilton is in our organization, I'd be pissed too if I'm a Bruins fan.

If what we gave up was truly the best offer and Hamilton wanted out, so be it. But sounds like Hamilton wasn't shopped very much, which is the real crime of the bruins brass.

I would say that the Sabres are in a better position than the Bruins right now.

In a cap world you need to make tough decisions, just as the Blackhawks did. But it is not only who you move, but who you get in return.... Boston just chose the wrong players to move. The Hamilton move wouldn't be so bad If Boychuk was kept.

Who's next to go?

Dennis S
Marchand
Loui

Those 3 would clear up 12.75

firing a great GM like Chirelli was the mistake, and giving the job to a green unknown who wants to make a name for himself but has no clue is the result of it. Can't blame a home grown rookie for this, it's like handing your 8yo the car keys. He's not at fault for the ensuing disaster, you are for giving him the keys.

The picks were a reach, losing Hamilton sucks and keeping money on lucic hurts.

The worst part about all of this by far, is that Julien, Sweeney and Neely don't understand what they just did!

They think they are contenders, I really believe that they don't understand what everybody is talking about.

And that means that we will be fed nonsense about how we are "Cup contenders" and that we have a solid team and a solid future.

It is the classic "they don't realize that they suck yet" conundrum.

Which means that we have to watch them fail miserably for the start of the season and even possibly for a couple years before some one wakes up, and fires both Neely and Sweeney.

That's what's is the most depressing..........we have to wait for them to hit rock bottom and that may take a few years.

I would seriously not be surprised if Rask asks for a trade followed by Bergeron towards the middle/end of the season.

Pretty confident that the management and coaching staff are going to get "lit up" by the locker room as the team struggles.

Add in all of the rookies and overrated vets and it's going to be a firestorm.
