You would do that deal 1-1?? If you are the Blues.
- mdw7413

Well it's impossible because of the salary cap. But if there was no salary cap then probably. Schwartz will be better than Nash 3-4 years from now, but for now Nash is still one of the top goal scorers in the league and if I'm St. Louis I want to win now.

And if I farted unicorns I would be a rich man.

I look at it like how Matt said it. Schwartz is their McDonagh. There is almost no trade I would make that gets rid of McDonagh.

I just think there are some people who think Schwartz isn't good enough to get in a trade for Nash. And we call those people crack smokers.

my top UFA targets for rangers:
Thomas Fleichmen(spelling?) -
if we can get him under $2.5M he would be a pretty good 3rd line winger for us. he has lost some product of late but he is still a skilled player and maybe can regain his form with Av's system.

Chris Stewart - probably over priced for us, but we need some grit that can also play

Brad Richards - wouldnt mind bringing Richards back at something like $2M; he can still play as a 3rd line Center to allow Hayes time to get better at draws.

I dont think Sather wil be busy on 7/1 but then again, he doesnt really have to be, we have most of the core in place and signed longer term so the only needs i see are a 2nd line winger(hopefully Miller can fill that void) and a 3rd/4th line winger that can play on the PK(Hag replacement).

That guy would be an animal if ever played with a pulse. Plays awfully small for such a big guy

I think we're overestimating the amount of cap space we have. Even with Hagelin and Talbot traded, not sure we have enough to sign a UFA for 2-2.5M.

Rangers invited Ahti Oksanen from BU to prospect camp, converted defensman to winger I had brought up a few months ago, scored 25 goals, 6'3"

So I just read that Shattenkirk could be available and may have been offered for the 16th overall pick, just for poops and giggles Nash+ Yandle for Oshie-Shatty-Rattie

This from The Boston hockey blog:
"Junior winger Ahti Oksanen made the transition from the blue line to the forwards corps this season look almost seamless. He arguably has the best one-timer on the team, and just always seems to be in the right spot with just enough space to create a chance.
After tonight’s performance, Oksanen added four more points (two goals and two assists) to his season total. And as much as his shot has been his best asset, the highlight on Saturday came on an incredible pass he made.
It took just a little over 10 seconds for BU to score on its first power-play chance of the night because of the Oksanen feed. Holding the puck near the crease, Oksanen made a no-look, through-the-legs pass to a wide-open O’Regan, who potted his 19th goal of the season."

I think Glass holds the title as best one timer on the team right now. Don't think he will ever reach 2 goals

I'm saying Glass hits 10 goals next year.
