I'm saying Glass hits 10 goals next year.

He is going to be confident after playing well at the end of the year.

He can be confident all he wants. That won't magically give him soft hands and a scorer's touch lol

Glass played well, but he won't start scoring

There is being positive, and then there is being realistic. Much like the Schwartz theory we got to take the beer goggles off haha

I'm not sure I get the negativity and doom and gloom rhetoric from Brook, I wish people would just stop reading his columns all together.

Are we really all surprised Hags was dealt? It sucks and no one wanted to see him go but if you really looked at the cap and crunched the numbers you knew this was coming. We at least acquired a young player that adds size and whose a shooter and who can play now. I don't agree at all it's a downgrade in skill, it's a risk but he could very well slot in with Stepan and Kreider if he takes off, there's still that potential with Etem. There are very few players with his finishing touch on our team and I can see him breaking out, if he'll get a consistent top 9 role he'll surpass Hag's offense.

The Talbot trade seems to have been fumbled, but you don't really know what was really offered and what wasn't. At least that proves to not follow the rumors from certain posters. We got a few new prospects thanks to Talbot and replaced him with Raanta while only giving up Haggerty. Haggerty wasn't even close to sniffing an NHL spot.

The draft was decent and I really like the overall talent they found, it'll take 3-4-5 years before we really know plus there are some other interesting camp invites I can see them signing.

Lastly, the offseason is far from over. They still likely need to shed some contracts, I can see Glass after his bonus being dealt. Potentially Klein as well. I also again see them signing a few of the FA's passed over in the initial frenzy. The core is mostly set so it looks like they'll let Fast, Miller, Etem, LIndberg fight it our for the open top 9 spots. For the 4th line RyBo and Hrivik are also good candidates to make their mark.

I think Brooks along with many of us simply feel like a team that has been squeaking by in the playoffs now looks weaker than it was before while other teams are getting better.

I'm one seriously butt hurt Rangers fan. Sorry to say that I do not see any significant moves coming before season starts and I do not see this team making it past the 1st round of the playoffs next season.

I've looked up and down the lineup and I just do not see any names that I expect to ever give more than they did last season. Hayes and Miller may be a bit more consistent but I do not see Nash, Zucc, Stepan, Brassard, or anyone on the D corps being better than last year. Hank had a ton of time off during the regular season to rest and be fresh for the playoffs and the team in front of him still couldn't get it done.

Doom and gloom I know but I sincerely believe that last year was our best chance to win the Cup.

I can't believe the league let this Pronger trade happen. This has gotta be one of the biggest travesties done in this league in years.

Zucc was hurt when we needed him most so that is already should be better if he stays healthy, and I would like to see Hayes and Miller progress well with playing time. I think we are still a playoff team, and once you get in the playoffs, a few bounces here and there and its a different outcome. Henrik needs to be our $8.5M goalie, IMO he wasnt last year.

Okay, enough of this Jaden Schwartz talk....First off, Schwartz is 22 years old and scored almost 30 goals last season. What GM on this planet would trade him??? There's no reason to think he won't score 30-35 next season as he continues to develop. There's also no reason to think Nash will digress a little and score 35 goals next season cuz 42 is his career best. Oshie and Schwartz together would probably be more in the realm of acquiring Malkin or Seguin or Getzlaf. Oshie and Schwartz together is basically only 1M cheaper than Nash's cap hit so its not exactly saving us. Nash isn't going anywhere. I have a feeling this roster is pretty much what it is for the next season. Probably just fine tuning some extras and maybe a 4th liner.

I am assuming it was done to get to the cap floor?
