you know, this theory that the Yandle trade is a complete failure is ridiculous.
He had 11 points in the playoffs and if we had won the 3rd period of game 7 vs Tampa, with the injuries to Girardi, Staal and McDonagh, Yandle would have easily played 25 minutes a night in the finals, maybe more.
He has a 2.6 million cap hit this coming season and will be among the top 5 defensemen in points. It's absolutely ludicrous to label this trade a bust right now. - jimbro83
Totally agree with your comments. Yandle was also playing injured |

Listen I'm with you on Yandle the player but we overpaid and part of that was Arizon eating money but because you gave up picks they went into this draft to recoup picks and and I don't like how they went about it, we had one 2nd round pick headed into The draft, we knew before hand Talbot would be dealt and I thought at worst we end up with at least two 2nd rounders and high up in the 2nd round, I don't think Slats did a good job with where he got these picks, after Edmonton traded the 16th they should've been out of the Talbot talks, I'd rather have 6'6" Jimmy Hayes right now |

I am still happy they went for it. I wish they had traded our first rounder in 2012 because I think that team needed another piece.
I'll take exciting playoff runs anyday over exciting draft days. |

if you are banking on another Lundqvist injury, then Talbot is going to be missed.
If you are banking on Lundqvist staying healthy all season long like he always has except for a freak accident last year, then Raanta is capable of doing as well as Talbot did last year.
I am actually seeing Ranger fans say that Hagelin was better than Stepan and he should be gone.
The crack smoking is alive and well in Rangerland - jimbro83
Rangers fans get "Attached" to players and get blinded by that. They didn't want to move Hags... They HAD too!

I don't think too many people outside of rangerville felt there was much chance sather was gonna get a first for Talbot. personally I had hardly no worries about dealing our 16th overall for cam Talbot.
even the 33rd and marincin was a stretch.
but this isn't a hahah, u got ripped off post. u didn't. sather actually did a good job manufacturing value from a small sample size. and the jury is still out on how well he'll do in edm.
chiarelli did a solid job waiting sather out, but I still think it was a fair return u guys got

I thought the Raggies were gonna have to cut Hagelin & it happened. Guy never seemed to develop a scoring touch anyway. He's a bit overrated in my book. |

I think we will be pleased with Etem. Kid is only 23 (turned 23 less than2 weeks ago) and still has a lot of upside. Look at JT Miller or Brassard....Etem is far from a bust at the moment.
Love the Raanta deal. |

On his contract status
I should be able to get something done pretty quickly with the Ducks. They traded for me, so they know what my needs are. I don’t think my agent and the Rangers really talked in terms of a contract extension. Maybe the Rangers saw others guys who signed, and what they signed for, and maybe they weren’t able to keep me. I’m hoping to get a deal done soon with Anaheim. I’m happy Anaheim traded for me. |

His speed was great, and his PK ability as well. But not worth the money he wanted |

I think Ranger fans will be pleasantly surprised by EE - he has a nice skill level - see Peg playoff goal -and although not as fast as Hags -.... I mean who is ?? he's got wheels - and is a big dude - he just never found a spot with Ducks as Bruce.. as you well know shuffles lines like a madman - drives me nuts - But I love getting Hags in the deal I must say --
I think AV will get quite a bit out of him - That has been the Rangers best move of the past 3yrs IMO anyway getting him from Van - Great coach - |

As far as Kreider and Hayes go for next year we should only need no more than $3 mil additional, Kreider should get around what Step's last deal got and Hayes what a Kreider got |

Etem fits like a glove on a line with Brassard and Zuccarello. On paper at least. |

I agree. Great speed but his finishing ability is substandard.. Became a cap casualty so I wish him luck in Anaheim.

Kevin Hayes couldn't make Chicago's roster and he's top 6. Let's give the new guy a chance before we paste a label on him. |

Didn't paste any label on him, was just stating a fact about his play last year. I am neither excited about this trade nor am I down. I'm going to wait to see what he does. Hopefully he plays great for us.
I just think top 6 might be a stretch for a guy who had 5 goals and spent the last half of the season in the AHL. Brassard,Zuke,Stepan,Kreider,Nash, one spot open. Im thinking Miller or even Fast, or if they decide to move Hayes to the wing. But who knows, maybe the kid plays incredible and earns a top 6 spot. Just seems like a stretch right now. |
