Honestly Etem is no sure thing, if we took on 2 projects at this juncture I'd say they have no idea what they want to do plus I don't think he's gonna sign for a very low number, he's young and already has two 20 goal seasons

I agree. The Rangers are going to be running out a lot of young guys, and I'm not dying to add another in free agency. I think the need another forward add, but I want one with experience.

Wouldn't mind Eric Fehr. Big body and I'm pretty sure he's good on face offs

Was going to post this in a separate blog and likely will but here we go:

Reports were that Florida offered Hayes straight up or two 3rd rounders and a 5th for Talbot. I believe it was two thirds, a fifth and Hayes for Talbot. But that's not the best offer by far.

From a pretty reliable source, San Jose offered the 9th overall pick and a fifth for Talbot and Klein. Sather attempted to go back to Edmonton to try and Yakupov , those negotiations took a while and by the time he got back to SJ, they withdrew the offer and made their own pick. The Rangers had Barzal and Crouse rated high, so one of them could have been a Ranger.

Larry Brooks hints at this when he says in his column Sunday: "But as Sather juggled the offers, interested parties dropped out, withdrawing offers and moving in different directions."

In addition, you wonder if the room freed up by dealing Talbot and Klein, especially Klein, would have gone to keeping Hagelin. If not, that would have been $2.9 mil more to use in either a trade for a forward or in free agency.

That's Doug Wilson's style.

I see what your saying. Just saw the update from NHL and wanted to see if he could be a viable option. I do believe he could be signed for cheap in a "prove yourself" contract, but thats what Etem will have so your right. Rangers shouldn't take on multiple "projects" for the starting lineup.

Justin Williams would be an awesome signing but definately way too expensive.

I don't know how trading Klein for a first could help us win the cup in the next two years .

I don't think he'll come cheap either but I've always liked him, sounds a little crazy but Mike Richards might be a worth while look

What do you guys think of Tlusty? He had a great season in the lockout shortened one and people thought he turned a corner and really hasn't been much since. Maybe he could be the next Pouliot for us? High pick under performer signs a one year deal

It would be optimal return for Talbot, what they were after, Someone like Barzal or Connor would have been a big asset for the future, I think based on what we got its making a lot of us angry

Of course, good motivation though, prove people wrong, come back to the East and stick it to Philly first hand

There are a lot more options that have emerged in the last couple of days, gonna take the right price for the right player, they need to get Step Dona ASAP, something tells me that Richardwad Sather will let it go to arbitration and drag Step through the mud to try and save a buck

Shawn Matthais 6'4" 220 lbs, can skate plays both wing and center, had 18 goals in Vancouver last season, and is an unrestricted free agent. An excellent potential pickup. Got it Glenn.

Brad Richards got 2mill. from Chi. , so why would Williams command more?

If he is smart, he will go to the team that he thinks is the best fit for him w/ and that has a chnace at the cup. I think NYR qualifies . He aint getting 4mil IMO this year.

Del Zotto doesn't get qualified by the Preds after the Rangers trade him, now Moore doesn't get qualified by the Yotes. Teams are going to stop trading for Rangers' dmen.
