it was his MVP year with MODO, he played in the olympics the following year - steponmytoe
the most important fact though, is that Sather had nothing to do with him coming to the Rangers |

Calgary killed it. 6 years 5.75, in 2 years depending on his growth in the game might be the best contract in the NHL - mdw7413

Callahan got dealt everyone was thrilled for the most part, now we don't have a first this year and now all the sudden Sather should stick a cigar up his ass? How is that fair? - Slimtj100
I don't care about the Callahan trade, we weren't resigning him and without MSL we don't get to the finals, wouldn't say we won that trade and I wouldn't say we lost it either, Tampa traded both of those picks to the Isles anyway |

I think Sather & Company definitely (frank)ed up the Talbot trade, if all the reports are true and Gorton pretty much admitted as much. I'm not going to lose sleep over it though. |

But Vin the point is your all bent out of shape about trades and Sather. That's what my point is, your argument fits only when you want it to |

The last time it was this quiet on June 30, the Rangers sent Scott Gomez to Montreal.

He won that after the Olympics, it was all that year though - HankdaTank
Hedberg has been our European Scout since 2007, I would say after the season Zucc had in 09, he would have been on a few team's radars. At that point the SEL was the most competitive league outside the NHL |

I never said every trade he's made is a disaster, he's done better with them than free agency but this failure to grab the 9th and run like a sissy girl has me at the end of my rope, it's been 15 years already......15 |

Yes, of course. Sorry to get off topic. Sather needs to go, that's why we're all here. What if he makes a great signing tomorrow, do we cancel his execution or just postpone? |

I think certain deals went away from them when they were pursuing something bigger. If they lost a better deal because they were trying to land Yakupov in a deal involving Talbot ++, then that is life as far as I'm concerned. Sometimes you have to roll the dice, knowing that delaying on something else might mean that something else goes away.

I guess Anders Hedberg, don't know how long he's been our European scout, everyone saw Zucc for the 1st time at the olympics anyway - HankdaTank
So you are saying that Sather isn't involved at all in these decisions to sign players? You really think that? Why was he up for GM of the year? GMs are nominated by a panel that includes all 30 GMs. But hey, we will sit here and listen to you twaddle on about how bad he is because you know what it takes to manage a team better than actual GMs in the league. Your Sather hate is absurd. |

Yeah Pete, in hindsight with the reports I can say that, but you are right. They thought maybe a better deal was possible can't hold it against them. If they actually landed Yak we would all be in a big circle jerk for the next 2 weeks. |
