He was a disappointment (although besides being victimized by the Caps for the first 3 or 4 games of that series he was pretty good in the playoffs) but if our worst problem on defense is that Dan Boyle is our 6th defenseman, were in a pretty good spot back there.

If they can get him to waive his trade clause it would help everything obviously, but I don't look at Boyle as a bad thing if he is still here

I agree, I think Boyle will be fine, probably better than last year. Just think it needs to be considered to create some cap space to work on the offense. A lot of young players are slated to play upfront for the Rangers. It would be nice, IMO, to give a kid a shot on the blue line, and pick up another solid veteran upfront.

But, if that doesn't work out, which I am 80% sure it won't, then so be it.

no doubt in my mind Columbus must have threatened Chicago with offer sheet for Saad...

The only good news about that Saad deal is that it keeps him away from Pittsburgh.
