Rangers better get Stepan, Miller and Fast signed quickly. Offer sheet madness coming to your town soon. - airjan23
yep, especially Miller. He is vulnerable, because they really can't have him making over 3 million a yer this year |

Anisimov has a cap hit of $3.1M. For $1M more you keep Saad I'm sorry. |

And the return if you didn't match wouldn't be even close to adequate compensation.
For Stepan, there really isn't a problem, IMO, because I don't see who has the means to offer him a deal that the Rangers wouldn't match.

Do you think a GM would actually call another GM and be like "give me your player or else?" Cuz that would be badass. |

It'd be like a 2nd or 3rd round pick. definitely not worth it. |

I think they traded away a future Hart winner and a future Norris winner in a two year period. At least they will be in the conversation for those awards for a long time.

CHI traded Saad because he was looking for 6 yrs with AAV of $6.5M. May have been an offer sheet coming tomorrow from a team with those #s. |

That's too much money for him. This is all the Flames fault for offer sheeting ROR to a deal he wasn't worth. |

Saad apparently looking for a 6 year deal worth 6.5M per year. And yea I think free agency opens up tomorrow so Hawks kind of had a deadline here. |

He's gonna sign 6 years $5M per tomorrow though.. I think he thought he'd get that in an offer sheet as others stated. We will see.
Is Saad good enough to be concerned with him coming into the division? I don't think so. But still good move by the Jackets, jeez. |

You gotta think Hagelin was getting one of these offer sheets. What the return if you don't match nowadays? |

I think it is said more nicely than that. But, you also have to remember that the player has to sign the offer sheet. If you sign that offer sheet, and your club matches, it's has to be a little uncomfortable when everyone knows you forced the clubs hand by signing with another club and you were ready to jump ship.
And also, what comes around goes around. If the Jackets threatened that, they should be cognizant of the fact that Ryan Murray is a RFA next year, and Johansen the year after that. |

Jackets, Isles, Pens, Caps and Rangers. Tough, tough division. It's going to be hard for anyone else to break into that group of teams in the Division, and a good teams are going to be missing the playoffs in the East.

That $1.6 to $3.3 million tier is the b*tch. That's where the real exposure lies, IMO, if someone wants to pay JT Miller $3 million per, the return would only be a 2nd round pick and the Rangers couldn't match. |
