Guessing Oscar will play 3C opening night and that Etem wears #96. - 21peter
to me, he has got to get a chance this year or he is going to play in Europe
two solid seasons in Hartford, a terrific playoff this year, I understand he is good on faceoffs
that's the exact length of time in Hartford they gave Anisimov and then he was a full time player in the 09-10 season |

Kinda pissed at Glen Sather for not getting Jimmy Hayes.. having the Hayes brothers on the same team and possibly the same line would be very strong for the Rangers, another Sather screwup |

The cigar has been very lucky over the past 10 years. His team has been good enough to make the playoffs, and even surprise the league along the way. But, he hasn't won a championship in NY, and as the team is currently constructed is unlikely to do so before he lights up his last Auerbach. If you sat down with him, He would tell you, it's all luck, every trade, every draftee, every free agent signing, is just plain luck, I was there when he said it. Needless to say, it never made air.

If Richards comes cheap, any interest on a depth role? |

I have always liked him as a player. He is older and worn down a bit now but on a reasonable deal maybe wouldn't be a bad idea. |

I would only do it as a training camp invite and see if he worked out hard enough all summer.
He looked a lot like a player who didn't care anymore last year |

Ducks GM Bob Murray said that the trade for Carl Hagelin kind of “popped up” on Friday when he asked Glen Sather “what he was doing.” (Ducks)
The Ducks and Rangers had tables next to each other at the draft and while Murray and Sather were talking Sather mentioned Hagelin’s name and Murray’s “ears perked up a little bit.”
He said that parts of the deal were worked on during the first round on Friday and “we managed to get it done” on Saturday.
Murray said that Hagelin’s speed and tenacity is what the Ducks needed. He added that because Hagelin has arbitration rights, he will be signed one way or the other.” |

Honestly, if Brad Richards realizes how much the Rangers are still paying him on that deal, if he were to come back at his Chicago deal and give the team 40-45 points on the third line and let Hayes play wing, I would be interested in that. |

I understand the trade of Talbot. Sather waited to long ad to give up a draft pick to get a 2nd and 3rd when he had an offer two 2nds a few days before.
Unless Emerson Etem comes in and clones his game after Chris Kreider than the the the Rangers lose the trade in the short term. Long term obviously it's a question mark.
Remember when the Rangers drafted in 2014 and 2013 and we as almost as whole we excited because we got kids with high ceilings in Duclair, Tambellini, Buchnevich, Halversson and Shestyorkin? They did the exact opposite this draft. The pick that might leave me with a sour taste in may mouth is Ryan Gropp. Talk is now that he might leave the WHL Thunderbirds to go to North Dakota. Meaning he thinks his own game isn't up to par with one of the best amertuer development leagues in NA. Can't believe they passed on Harkins, Greenway Chlapik, Andersson and Kylington(twice). |

I am not a Rangers hater. They actually used to be one of my favorite teams when Messier went there. But I have always been and still am an Oiler fan.
Came on a Rangers thread here about Talbot and received all sorts of hate and accusations and was told repeatedly Talbot was worth a first round pick when obviously he clearly was not. Don't usually come back to say I told you so but the individuals were rude enough that I am here to do just that.
It was a strong draft and you guys got lots of picks for your back up goalie, maybe not the return you thought but could end up being very good. Good luck with your picks. |

I don't think him thinking about joining the NCAA necessarily means that |

Talbot is nothing more than an unproven backup goaltender who thrived behind the best defense in the league. Oilers got ran in this trade and Talbot will be lit up like a Christmas tree behind the Oiler's porous defense. Waste of picks. |

I've always liked the Oilers and I think they are going to have a great young team with the best prospect I've personally ever seen. I think they will win the Cup eventually with McDavid.
And I love Talbot, but given his contract status, and for that reason alone, I never thought he would get a 1st round pick unless coupled with something else.
