Too soon for a Nash type, these kids have to find their way and (my opinion) I haven't been impressed with his lack of leadership.
Just my opinion about a very good player that is nearing the end of his prime........ |

Draft picks: The Sabres had six selections in the draft, including generational talent Jack Eichel.
Best and worst choices: Eichel might be the best draft pick in Sabres history, and that's saying something! Going back to their first pick—Gilbert Perreault—Buffalo has had success in the draft. Brendan Guhle was taken early for what he brings, and the Sabres gave up a lot in the Ryan O'Reilly trade as described by the Canadian Press (via TSN).

If the Leafs sold there souls for ROR the press in Canada would be giving Shanny the key to the city. |

And he was out of the league the next year. I think he ran with Kovalchuk that year.
If you have a minute check this out. Can you believe the young talent on that team?

What better way to find there way than give the kids as many options ahead of them as possible.
This team is already a dman away from pushing for the playoffs. If nash could be had i think its go time. Nash will produce for the life of his contract if not more. |

I'm not sure who we have to give up that the rangers would want whose name isn't eichel, reinhart, risto or girgensons |

This is the only evaluation I've seen that's poor and since it's from bleacher report, I'm not putting much stock in it.

In a year or two, I wouldn't mind if Murray takes a run at Kovalchuk (if he still is playing at a high level -- will be around 35) as a scorer for the final piece of a Cup run.
When the Devils went to the Finals, he had 19 points (8G, 11A).
Plus, if he's still in the KHL, he won't cost a pick or prospect.
And yes, I know I might be getting ahead of myself with a Cup run by the 2017-18 season, but it is an out-of-the-box idea that Murray might try. |

Im sure his price went up as soon as they cleared cap space.
I would still pass on oshie. Larsson was making plays and being hard to play against, playing first line mins late in the season. Sounds like oshie to me.
A pure goal scorer would be a nice addition. |

Can't give up McCabe now that Zadorov has been moved. The D pipeline is pretty thin at the moment in terms of guys that will be ready in the next year or 2. |

In a weird kind of way right now feels like we need to make that final Cornelius Bennet-type move to completely put us over the top. That probably won't be for a year or two as the kids need to grow. |
