Can you imagine what the other GM''s are asking for? I can assure you its not Bailey, Nielsen or Grabovski for that top line winger. Besides Sharp is there any other cash trapped teams dangling a top liner that is not making 7-8 million like Kessel?

I don't think it has to be a complete, elite winger. Just someone who shoots the puck and can thrive playing with a center like Tavares. Sure, I'd love an elite winger who doesn't need Tavares to shine, but I'd settle for someone who's not necessarily better than what we have, just a different type of player. I think the Isles are a bit overloaded on intelligent players that like to hold the puck, and they have some players that can grind along the boards like Kulemin and Okposo. Great for possession, and it leads to positive things. But you gotta have a triggerman in there somewhere, even if it's someone who does little else, and I can't think of any forward on the team with a nice wrist shot.

I cannot argue the points you and Vukota are making. I will chalk it up to too many 1st round loses and having Cappy back adds to the negative feelings. I know it's a different team. Hopefully everything works out in the end.

It a good idea to hold off as these things are out of our control. It does feel better to let off steam though.

I think so? Being a sports fan is tough work. Should come with a warning label.

How much is that going to cost against the cap and for how long?

Justin Williams???? So you want to sign a 34 yr old winger on the decline for at least 4-5 million a year for multiple years and lose Okposo because you can't pay them both? Plus if they are going to lose Okposo its going to be for somebody a hell of a lot better then Justin Williams. Oduya is another guy who is going to get overpaid and the Isles are not going to sign a guy for 4 million to be a bottom pairing guy that's how you lose other players that you don't want to down the road because of bad contracts. It's easy to just sit here and say sign this guy and sign that guy without taking the cap and other players needing to get paid down the road into consideration
- Vukota

Well that's why you don't sign Hickey.

Semin I believe only had 2 more years left, so his buyout would not be that bad, that's why TOR wanted him in a trade for Kessel, 2 yrs is better than 7 .....

Ah, OK. For some reason I thought he got a longer-term deal from the Canes after his one-year "prove it" contract, but maybe that was longer ago than I thought...the years sort of blend together for me at this point!

Ron Francis said Jan. 28 he would not be buying out Semin after the season. His buyout will carry $2.33M cap hit for each of next 6 seasons.

Signing him to a 3 year contact is stupid. Especially with who we have to sign. I've been happy with most of what Snow has been doing besides the obvious Capuano face palmer(which is a VERY big deal I don't want to down play it)but signing him is plain dumb. If he's a true seven / eight why the (frank) are you signing him for so much money?
