2 million dollars a year is a lot of money?
- Vukota

For Hickey, yes...... plus being that 6/7th dman, just a tad expensive

Anybody you signed as a UFA to be your 6th would cost more

If so, would be a better choice, don't ya think?

Right now its this;

Boy-Leddy
Hammer-Dehaan
Hickey-strait

For a 6, 7, 8 or whatever we are calling him this week defenseman that offers what Hickey does yeah. Especially when you have to factor signing Tavares while Hickey is still under contract. Absolutely. It's a poop ton for Hickey. He's not that good even for a 6,7. That's without even mentioning the term.

Well you don't necessarily have to sign a number six. You can sign a legit top 4 and move the depth chart down a bit.

Pulock and hickey should be the bottom pairing. The question is would they want to pay hickey 2 mil at 3 years or a UFA -3-4 years at 3-4 million because that's why they are going to get because everybody over pays on July 1st. The isles are not going to give a bottom pairing guy 3-4 million a year for 3-4 years and rightfully so. Nobody on the open market this year is worth that

I agree, I would like either Martin or Beauchamin on a 2yr deal...

U may think different but I'd rather have Strait paired w/Pulock instead or even Dehaan...

Maybe they deal Dehaan? Notice how Hickey hasn't signed yet? They could talk to these guys for the last couple of days but not about money so maybe snow he will be priced out and will wait until tomorrow give it one last try and then fall back to hickey

I was being sarcastic and writing a generic post about saying "let's sign (veteran defenseman) to a 1yr deal even though he's probably looking for a 3-4 year deal.

Meaning I thought someone was going to suggest signing Paul Martin to a 1 year deal. Then I said I was pretty close because Ur Not Me suggested doing that, except for a 2yr deal.

Gotcha, they also don't factor in the cap and having to sign guys in the next year or so
