Seems like CHI is still in a tough cap spot, wouldn't be shocked if Snow somehow gets Sharp for just a draft pick & minor spec.... There in a bundle heading into tomorrow

You can't just discount the first half and put all the emphasis on the second half either. Plus we lost our best Dman and two others by the time game 7 came along
- Vukota

Yep. I'm not throwing away the first half. But I don't think the 100 POINT SEASON!!! in neon lights you see thrown out there sometimes as the automatic response to anyone calling for a significant move tells the whole story either. If I'm emphasizing the second half more today, it's because I don't see a lot of people talking about it anywhere. It's usually what we need for the playoffs, but with the Rangers, Caps, a healthier and probably much better Columbus team, and the Penguins still with some of the best players in the league even as they're going through some issues, I think it's going to be a battle to get there again.

Fair enough but those same teams you just mentioned will say the same thing that its gonna be a battle for them as well

Absolutely. They should be watching out for the Islanders.

the longer the hawks wait, the less of a return they're going to get. Teams will make other plans and use up their cap space. I think at best a 2nd and a b level prospect but it could be even less

Trade someone to BOS for our 2nd rounder back and then we can offer sheet the hell out of Brandon Saad

Normally I would say that's stupid and won't ever happen, but good old Demented-Don Sweeney might go for it.

If it wasn't for Saad, then they'll have all off-season to figure it out, but they don't..

with a limited cap space for BOS and they still need roster players, could be good trade partners.....

They’d still have less time if they wanted a bigger return. That cap space goes quick for most teams after july 1st.

They can’t take money back and the number of teams who could afford to take sharp will shrink quickly tomorrow.

Obviously I have no sources. But he's good on the draw (53%) and a very good penalty killer. I vaguely remember Staple, a few weeks or maybe a month ago, mentioning him as a possibility in free agency.

Just a gut feeling. Probably wrong.
