ICYMI, The LAK are trying to circumvent a buyout of Mike Richards in which the termination will not count against their cap.

I think they want him
But they def have some work to do on their Cap
Idk if they can make it work

Then they got traded
And for very good returns

Why isn't that happening with Kessel
I think he's damaged goods
Maybe he can go to a team like Arizona & be a 40goal scorer for a team that will be a bored earlobe playoff contender
I just don't see him a a vital part to a Cup team
Besides the salary, there's just too many issues ON and OFF the ice

Voynov isn't counting against their cap at the moment. (well, when the season starts at least. I think it works the same as the LTIR type of thing).

I think if the deal was decent I'd do it in a heartbeat. We have all these guys who can pass but no pure sniper. We get that and a defenseman and I'll start placeing bets for playoffs before the ink is dry

It's because they're afraid if they say what actually happened they'll get beat again and they're afraid to leave for fear they'll get caught and beaten then too.

It's a vicious cycle. They usually don't say anything because they feel that's the only way they have any control over what's going on.

Maybe I missed it but I don't see all these blatant issues that make him a cancer. He's a one dimensional player but when that dimension is scoring at a high rate with the linemates he's had, I'd still be cool with it.

Imagine a top 6 of
Kane-Eichel-Kessel
Moulson-O'Reilly-Ennis

And you would still have Reinhart and Girgensons. That's a good looking offense IMO.

I will say this, however, I think that if Murray does make a trade whether it be for Kessel, a top 6 winger, or a defenseman, it'll be for them plus. It seems like all of Murray's deals have his target guy but he likes to get things on the side as well. Bogo maybe, Legwand, McGinn.

I know each were different situations and maybe Bogo was a target as well and Legwand was a throw in but it just seems like Murray likes the more complex trade
