Zads as a legit Top 4 Dman, knowing the Avs now have him into the fold really set up the rest of the draft. So now they weren't pressured into having to try a Dman at 10.

They were able to concentrate on their draft board and got a stud in Rantanen. Getting those 2 in a few hours. Couldn't be happier with the youth of the team now

I don't have much confidence in Compher being able to score at the NHL level, so while he could be the type of player you mentioned, I don't think his scoring will be that big.
