I am really hoping that ROR just priced himself out of Colorado and doesn't ACTUALLY want 7-8M per year.

I really hope that he can look around him with Kane, Eichel, Reinhart, Girgensons, Risto, etc and say "Yea I think I can make 6.5M work for 6-8 years financially to keep these guys around"

Scoring is far from the only thing he brings to the table though. He will really help on FOs and shutting down the opposing team's #1 center. If he puts up 50-60 pts and keeps the Sidney Crosby's of the world from eating us alive he'll be worth every penny.

The closest thing to compare him to is the Krejci or Bergeron contracts in Boston.. Similar point totals and "non-stat" factors to be paid for.

They are talking about Kopitar getting 10M per.. Toews getting 10.5M... Getzlaf gets 8.25M.. Backstrom at 6.7.


I guess with the direction of Centers contracts are going.. it'd make sense.
