I, for one, am glad we will have a good team on the ice (with a great future) and a good prospect pool, rather than the crappiest team ever with the most awesome prospect pool ever. - LandlordTom
It's going to be fun watching these games from day one next season. I'm not expecting anything grand, just solid hockey and enjoying the talent that is one the ice. The best is we'll watch as they grow as a team over the next few years until hopefully that cup is ours |

He's going to get too much term and salary for my liking. |

Honestly I should be getting a call before 11 tonight. If it was me,I would offer tarasenko a huge contract, who cares about the first rounders. They will be 12 to 22 range. And they won't be tarasenko

Honestly, I'm glad to hear we aren't trying to trade for someone, although I know 89 says we are interested in Yandle - but at least both of you aren't saying that.
I prefer the idea of signing a UFA, even if we overpay monetarily - better than overpaying with players, prospects and draft picks. |

How about the fear of losing him to KHL? |

Even if we overpay? I think we would be fine to pay him whatever he wants as long as he signs for 2 years. |

it's not the money, he'll get money from multiple teams, it will be the team that offers him that 3rd or even 4th year that he probably signs with. That's where i would say thanks but not thanks. |

That won't happen, if it's his last contract when he has value it will be longer |

I'm with you on that...unless it could be like a 3 year 13 million deal. But sounds like he is looking for much more. |

Come on......Really? We just nailed two Premium Young Forwards, both with Skill/Grit/Youth/ and the two biggest deals for the NHL in 2 years! What we have done, is unprecedented in its speed and articulate design, all the while being completely Transparent.
I decent size trade occurrs where I believe BOTH teams, in fact I think Columbus may have given up TOO much as they sent their 1st Round 21 yr Centermen with an excellent coming out party this past season. "Marko Dano" 1st Round Draft Choice, 21 yrs old, Played his first 35 games in the NHL and scored 21 points. Artem Anisimoz (27) strong player wherever he goes with a really nice small cap hit. This was a 7 man trade. There weren't a lot of draft picks or any. So this was in the works for some time, if you ask me.
We can't get EVERY player that gets traded. - MEBSabresFAN
Not saying I'm not excited about it, because I am. We are used to watching the worst Sabres team ever, to what should mount to be a very respectable team. Even a force to be reckoned with maybe. |

Any word on what we may give up for Yandle? Obviously I would assume we would want to re-sign him quickly like O'Reilly. |

I think the 3 year deal is fair, and it wouldn't hinder us in the future.... |

There are reports that Cody Franson will go back to Toronto by Canadian journalists. If they do that then they aren't fully tearing it down. Marner won't be enough and quanity of 3rd round picks won't do it either. Rip that mother apart and do it right. Patience is a virtue Toronto has never had. |
