it basically comes down to that it is lottery protected. If Pitt's pick is in the lottery then it is pushed back a year. If Pitt is in the lottery both years then TML gets 2nds

If Pitt goes deep in the playoffs or wins the Stanley Cup AND Toronto is a bottom feeder... it essentially boils down to that Pitt would trade back a few slots. No big deal or difference when you are talking about picks 25-35 most years
